HI! Is it possible to see before acting the EV of OOP and IP on an individual tree? I know that with the script for subset of several flops you can see

Thx.
Ok, I will consider it for future releases.

Yes, if you solve the tree under "Run solver", then the EV will be displayed there.

Generally 0.5% is recommended, however, 1% or even 2% is still a superhuman level of play.

If you want to look at a tree in your database, then double-click it to load it.

Yesm but I would like to know the EV of IP & OOP before OOP makes bet or check

For that, navigate to OOP's decision.
His EV will be displayed below the table.
And if you mouse over it, IP's EV will be displayed in a popup.

Re: CardRunnersEV

Hello.

Whats the minimun ram required for solving tres with 2 or more sizings?

My rather old laptop has 8 gb ram but gto+ is only able to solve trees with one bet size, and sometimes with two, y 7bb pots on the flop. But it cant solve a database of 15 flops with 2 betsizes and 7bb pot on the flop.

It's up right now, however, it's possible that there was some maintenance during the night. Should you still not be able to reach the website, can you try a proxy please? Also, should you still not be able to reach the website, then can you please let me know? Thank you in advance.

If you're using "Extenstive" storage, then storing the solutions in memory requires RAM as well. Should you want to get around this, then try exporting your database as separate files.

For this, use the code export_mydir to export all the trees in the database as separate files to the directory /flops/mydir.

After that, use the "Folder" feature (upper right of the interface) to process all files in that directory.

When the solver is done, you can again merge the separate files into a database with the code MERGE.

Re: CardRunnersEV

Hi,
I solved a tree for 1755 flops and when closed the program, got back to it, I cannot see the flops anywhere. Where do I find them? I've searched everywhere I could think of with no result. Thanks

Did you create a savefile?
The flops can be found under "Run solver"->"Advanced".

I was just thinking of this today. New and even old users might not know, at least until it's too late, about solving all files in a given directory being the only method of solving that auto saves as it goes from one flop to the next. I wonder why this isn't default? And the argument of savefiles being too large doesn't really apply in 2020. We are talking about several gigabytes for multiple databases, which pale in comparison to nearly any one modern day video game. Although I'm sure the large 1,755 flop could be a different story, but we are already given a warning in red letters about this.

Re: CardRunnersEV

How much faster are modern day solvers, say yours for example, compared to whatever existed "back in the day" of the early 2000's, or before? Do you know when the first software to solve toy game versions of poker came into existence? Just curious.

AFAIK, there wasn't anything back in the day. I think the first Nash EV solvers were privately done in the early 2010s for NLHE. The limit solvers were earlier. CFR+ came out in 2014.

We would gladly offer auto-saving as a default, however, there's a problem with it accidentally overwriting files. Namely, if you have a savefile that's valuable to you, open it, make some changes and run the solver, your savefile will now be overwritten. This will not happen with the "Folder" feature. In this case, it will open a file, run the solver, save the file and close it again. So it's a closed set of instructions that can not possibly overwrite files by accident.

Understood. Thank you for explaining.

Re: CardRunnersEV

Scylla,

Regarding the aggregate matrix that can display equity or expected value-- can this be implemented for specific nodes for any specific game tree? Say if I wanted to see BB's EV across his entire river range all at once for a given spot, is this something you considered implementing?

At the moment it's possible to navigate aggregate reports throughout the flop. We don't offer this for the turn/river because this would be an average of an average (averaged over all turns, over all flops). And each node will have been reached with a different range and frequency. Because of this, it's not really possible to add this data. We can consider ignoring this, and adding it anyhow for later releases, but right at this moment it has been left out for this reason.

The data is already there, it's just a matter of arranging it into a matrix and applying a heat-map, but I don't understand the complications of coding it into existence because it's beyond my scope, but I understand if there is a hesitation to do so on your end.
