Hello I have a newbie question.I have CREV but I am still learning to work with it.Now I saw that there is a new function 'Equlibrium Solver' , so my question is: Is that function is something like GTO solution or not?

I am asking because I am wondering is it need to buy program like PIOsolver or this Equilibrium Solver of CREV is doing the same?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, it's indeed a GTO solution. The CardRunnersEV solver is still under development, and takes a bit more time to find solutions. It's getting faster with every release though, and the next release will again be faster. In the current version the results are pretty much instant for preflop, turn and river spots. Also you'll get results fairly quickly with 1bet and 2bet flop trees. 3bet flop trees still take some time though. Roughly 90 seconds to get within 2% of the pot, 3 minutes to get within 1% and 6 minutes to get within 0.5%. If all that you're trying to do is Minimally Exploititive Play (just google it for a youtube video; for a short video that explains how to lock actions and how to auto-build trees please watch video nr 4 here: http://www.cardrunnersev.com/equilibrium.html) or to finish up your current tree then solving down to 2% should be just fine though.

I'm struggling to get decision point to lock after the latest update.

Right clicking bring up with the little padlock now instead of the L. When I run the solver though the ranges are changed for the locked nodes

Do I need to do anything else?

The lock is just a different picture from the L.
There's no changes there.

Can you please send a savefile to support?
I can't seem to reproduce what you're describing, but maybe I'm overlooking something.

Hi Scylla,

Again, CREV is amazing!

I reckon I've found a bug.

When I use CREV to investigate preflop play. I often use the checkdown function to estimate postflop EV. Then I later run equilibrium tool and do ev calculation. When I look into the ev. In many cases, AA's EV in not quite right. Usually CREV will underestimate AA and overestimate 32o.

For example (the same as the file I attached):

In a 100/200 HU game, pot is 2400, so it's a 12BB short stack game

I assume SB will either Jam or Call or Fold, and BB will either Jam or Check if SB call.

And I assume both player will get 100% equity if SB Call and BB Check.

After running F1 and F7, SB's AA will be in the calling range, showing 833 in EV.

But if I do EV calculation manually:

According to the CREV,

SB's AA's equity is 833

BB will Jam 44.1% if SB Call, and in this case SB's AA's EV is 1844.

In the other 55.9% BB will Check. And let x be SB's AA equity in this case.

<AA's EV> = 833.4 = -100 + 0.441*1844 + 0.559*400*x

x = 0.54

Something must be wrong, AA's equity should be around 86% in this case.
So AA's EV should be 906.

Here is the stx: http://www.filedropper.com/hu100sb200bb2400pot

Cheers,

pokoteng

Oops, sorry, I found out that I forgot to take card removal into account.

CREV is correct.

Hi there, first of all amaizing job u did with this program, i have few questions

i have a scenario

BTN opens and BB calls (board is 9xx with unknown turn and river)

BB checks with all hands

1. question if its ok to just leave it like that or i have to make two decisions and lock down one of them in my case it would be

check 100% all hands (now i would have to lock that "all hands" right ?

bet 0%

or i could just delete his "bet decision" right ? (it would automatically make him check will all hands)

think its yes to my question but want ot make sure

now

BTN bets and BB x/r and BTN has the option to go AI, call or fold

so i use solver and see what hands i "can" x/r x/c and x/f on the flop (as BB)

but i want to see what is the play on Ax turn so i use solver and it pops up that

solver is unable to find entry point for last board phase

1) there is no play in the last board phase at all
2)...multiple entry points....

so i have to use this blue check point couse there are 3 ways to get to that turn

1) BTN check back
2) BTN bets and BB call
3) BTN bets BB x/r and BTN calls

so i have to set a checkpoint on every turn decison separately and each time use a solver right

why cant it just solve for all three scenarios ? (my best guess its time consuming)

same goes for the river

so basically if i want to solve entire tree i have to set checkpoint on each turn (if river is unknown) or every river decision if river is known

so if i want to use solver

where (known turn and river)

Flop - BB x - BTN bets - BB calls
Turn - BB x - BTN bets - BB calls
River - BB x - BTN bets - BB calls

i would set a checkpoint on BB's decision on the river (first i would have to do that on the turn with unknown river right ? to get solution for the turn play)

so

1) use solver on the flop with unknown turn and river
2) use solver on the turn with uknown river to get turn ranges (setting up a checkpoint for a particular subtree)
3) use solver on the river with known river again setting up checkpoint for particular subtree

and if want to see

BB x/c flop, and donks turn and donks river

I would have to repeat this process (without step #1, couse i have flop solved) ? all this seems a bit messy if something isnt clear let me know

You should indeed lock the "all hands" condition here.
However, deleting the entire bet decision would be better, given that the tree will be smaller, meaning that the solver will run faster.

Yes, if there's multiple entry points then you'll need to tell the solver which one you want solved by setting a checkpoint. However, if all you want here is to see the play on a specific turn then you won't need to re-run the solver. Just enter the turn and recompute the tree with F7.

I can probably look into doing this for later versions, but for the moment you can only solve one sub-tree at once.

No, all you need to do is enter the flop tree with the turn and river unknown and then run the solver. The solver will figure out the near-equilibrium on all turns and rivers. You don't need to do anything else. It's all already automated for you.

If, after that, you want to see play on some turn and/or river, then you can just enter that turn/river and recompute with F7. There's no need to run the solver again. The solution that's shown to you is already an equilibrium.

one more question

lets say that in that tree

BB X/R and BTN 3bets (on the flop) solver "says" BTN does it some % of the time with TT (9xx board)

but lets say no one will do that with TT they will just call

so what i have to do is this

put TT into raise(3bet) decision and set it up to 0% and lock it right ?

and it would be nice to see how a particular hand is played through all subtrees

what i mean is lets take AA for example if i analyze bet bet bet decision for BTN it would show me that BTN does it 93% of the time(absolute) but to see what he does the other 7% i would have to find it myself (in my tree 7% goes into check on the flop decision) but with other hands it takes some time to find where it goes

not sure if it possible tho but it would be very convenient

could u please add 4bet in the tree wizard (maybe even 5bet)

couse in Single raised pots i have to leave it without 4bet and just call or 3bet being AI which is huge overbet

On the river for Turn(2) part of the tree, the BTN's equity is 24.4% and he is calling with 2.39:1 odds and yet it shows that the EV of the call is +5.31bb. Since the equity needed to make a breakeven call getting 2.39:1 odds should be 29.5%, why am I getting this result?

On the river for Turn(2) part of the tree, the BTN's equity is 24.4% and he is calling with 2.39:1 odds and yet it shows that the EV of the call is +5.31bb. Since the equity needed to make a breakeven call getting 2.39:1 odds should be 29.5%, why am I getting this result?
Hi,

Unfortunately I can't seem to import this text block.

You'll need to put the text block between [ code ] and [ / code ] brackets. Otherwise the forum editor changes the contents and it's not possible to load it. Alternatively, you can also send a savefile to support.

Cheers,

Scylla

Ok, this is actually a rather complex spot, given that there's 3 players, of which one is all-in. So there's all sorts of side-pots to take into account here. Given that there's also an unknown board and ranges that depend on the unknown board, as well as card removal for the all-in player for side-pot calculations I don't think I'll be able to confirm this manually.

Can you tell me how the equity is calculated on nodes with unknown cards? Does the monte carlo engine take the equity of the range for each trial and average it? What about the math engine?
