CardRunnersEV can do everything that Flopzilla can do.
However, Flopzilla has an interface that is specifically geared towards the purpose of range analysis.
Although CardRunnersEV can do all those things, it would take a lot more effort.

Is there a limit betsizing option hiding somewhere in the Beta version? It's a bit of a pain to analyse LHE hands right now as the bet sizes are always screwed up.

Yes.
When you move your mouse close to a decision node a bar with quickbuttons will appear above it.
The buttons read "Fold", "Call", "Raise", "NL" or possibly "Fold", "Check", "Bet", "NL".

Press the "NL" quickbutton to toggle to LHE mode.

In the setting menu there is an option called

Display strategy EV sb vs bb

Could you explain what this is for?

It displays the EV for SB and BB prior to posting their blinds.
It can be used to evaluate the value of an entire strategy in a HU battle.

"Edit hand history rankings" Dialog
v 2.8.4

"Save to file" button doesn't work, can't locate ranking file too. How could I export that matrix to use in combonator or something like that?

Also Preflop I would like to work with groups instead with entire range, for example:
QQ+, AK - 100%
99-TT - 50%
AQ-JJ - 100%.

Right now it will merge first and 3rd group into one Group. But it would be more comfortable (for editing, changing weights and even just visualy) if it would be possible to separate. It used to be like this in older versions But now it is impossible
And as I told before- playing with variables likes this:

Isn't very comfortable.

Thnx.

When you transfer ranges from Flopzilla to CardRunnersEV and vice versa it doesn't seem to transfer any weights over - just the raw range. Is this possible? Am I doing it wrong? Or failing that - feature request?

The "Edit hand rankings" dialog allows a user to enter custom hand rankings.
At least, I asume you're talking about the dialog that comes up after pressing Ctrl+F4?

These rankings are stored in preflopranges.txt.
You can find that file in the main directory.

The "Save to file" button stores the hand rankings to this file after editting.
As far as I can tell it's working fine.

But possibly you're talking about another menu?

For that, turn OFF "Clear mode" in the upper left.
Now the matrix won't be cleared when you load a new ranking.

If you want to apply a weight to a loaded group, select that weight and thén load the group.
The weight will be applied to it.

If you want to apply a variable instead of a weight, right-click one of the available weight buttons to attach a variable to it.
Thén, attach that weight to the desired group.

Edit: Sorry, misread your second question/comment

I suppose if you really want to do that you could still get around the current setup by adding a variable to the second group and setting that variable at 100%. It will then be treated as two separate groups.
Also, I think I'll indeed remove the merging of groups that have an identical weight. It seemed like a good idea at the time ...

No, it's just the raw range.
I expect to add importing/exporting ranges/predefs/etc between the two programs in 2013.
I haven't gotten around to it yet.

Thank you for answering to both questions
Yes, I was talking about CTRL+F dialog.
I found what I've want ( copied custom range to another program) However it wasn't clear how to export range from crEV so I was thinking that save to file will bring dialog and allow to save it there.
Anyway everything is fine now.

It would be nice if you will decide to make merging as option. But even without I will be able to live

Please help with basic EV math that's giving me a hard time.
On the flop, CardRunners EV shows:
UTG+2---Call(all hands)---100%
pot: 33.86
to call: 16.49
odds: 2.05
stack: 16.49
EQ: 63.5%
EV: 14.44
How does CREV come up with this 14.44 number? Both players are all in after this call on the flop, and the turn and river cards are random.
My math is different: (.635*33.86)+(.365*-16.49)=15.48
Where am I going wrong?
Thanks.

You forgot to include rake.
If you call, the pot becomes $50.
Judging from the EV=$14.44 result I suspect that you have rake set at 5% with 35% rakeback.
That would make the part of the pot that goes to rake 65%*50*5%=$1.625.

So, if you call and win, you don't win $33.86 but $33.86-$1.625=$32.235.

Therefore, the formula is (.635*32.235)+(.365*-16.49)=14.45.

The 1 cent difference is due to rounding in the equity.

Ah, that makes sense. Thanks!

Hello. Here is my question.
How can I distinguish two cases on the turn: 1) I had a middle pair on the flop and on the turn it's still 2nd pair because a low card came and 2) I had TP on the F and on the turn it's a 3rd pair because a turn card was above TP on the flop.
Thanks in advance.

There's several ways that I can think of:

The card itself
Let's say that the flop is Ah7s2s, then to specify a 7x hand, go to the "Holecards" tab in the postflop menu and select '7' under "Values".

The layer system
You can define different types of cards coming up on the turn as a group and create a different sub-branch for each. Please see here for a more detailed explanation: http://www.cardrunners-ev-calculator.com/turnriver.html

The overcard condition
In the "Board texture" tab of the postflop condition menu, click on the "Board" button. An overcard to the flop can either be defined as ***[>F] or ***[>B].
See here for the syntax: http://www.cardrunners-ev-calculator...finitions.html

Unfortunately PokerStars no longer allows p2p transfers for non-gaming purposes. And with that, this will probably apply to FTP as well ...

quick question cant test dont have my key yet

if i add 2 different river layers where i take 2 different lines.

will the program add EV of both lines on both scenarios together?

or will it give me 2 separate EV based on layer i am viewing?

basically want to know if i bet whole range on flop and turn but only bet certain cards what the total EV will be. so even though i give up a ton of rivers i want to know if my bet on certain cards makes up for it.

On the river each layer is treated separately, since they are separate branches.
However, for the turn calculations the different river layers will be added together.

If you're having any trouble with setting up your tree, please mail a savefile to support and I'll take a look.

Cheers,
