Didn't find the answer, so asking it here. How do I define top % range preflop? I'm using beta.
Thanks

Doubleclick the condition to edit it.
Then use the slider.

Or did you mean something else?

Ok, go to the preflop menu and use the button "Use variable" to assign that variable as the top x%.

I want to compare the overall EV of having a turn check raising range to just having a turn betting range on a particular board run out.

What is the best way to do this?

It is confusing with the different EV's at different points in the tree.

You could add both lines beneath each other and give the top line a weight of 50%.

In that manner, you'll have both lines in the tree at the same time.

To get the EV of each line, compute with F7 and then mouse over the appropriate action (the EV of the decision as a whole is useless here, since it's a mix of the EVs of the two lines).

See below for an example where SB is considering between raising and calling to check down the turn. Mouse over the top red area to get the EV of calling, and mouse over the bottom area to get the EV of pushing.

Using the beta version, when I input one condition/set of ranges for a HU BB calling range preflop, then click 'edit condition' try to add a second condition/set of ranges that I want to add a weight to, the second condition seems to replace the first one rather than sit below it. Am I doing something wrong in my approach?

nb. the program is also closing when I run the maximally exploit feature with a complete tree (ie no loose ends).

Hi libertyhaze,

Ah yes, that’s different in the beta.
In the alpha you constantly had to get in and out of the preflop menu in order to add different conditions with different weights.
In the beta, it’s all in one menu.
To add a weight to a starting hand, first select one of the five available weight to the upper right of the starting hand matrix.
Everything you now click on will get that weight attached to it.
Use the slider bar to the right of the matrix to change the value of the weight.

I’m currently working on an updated manual that should deal with all of the changes.

Cheers,

Scylla

Could you please send a savefile to support?

This doesn't seem to work

I don't know if I explained myself correctly. I am trying to create a preflop HU file I can use, and for the SB 3b I want to create multiple ranges (eg. a standard stackoff range, a polarised 3b range, a merged 3b range), then each time I use the file I can change the weights accordingly.

The problem I have is that I click 'edit condition', select one of my stored ranges, double-click, press Done, and it includes it as one of my 3b ranges. Then I click 'edit condition' again, select another range, double-click, press Done, and it replaces the first one.

If I right-click 'edit condition' instead I get this small "multi conditions" menu but its application doesn't seem to be very intuitive :/

That's the way these things typically go

You mean in the left column, below "Clear mode"?

If Clear mode is OFF, then every range you load will be ADDED to the existing range.
If Clear mode is ON, then it will REPLACE the existing range.

In case you want to ADD ranges to the existing range, but also attach a weight to them, then select the desired weight in the upper right of the starting hand matrix (there's 5 little buttons marked 1 through 5). If you now double-click a range to load it, this entire range will get that weight attached to it.

For more hints on how menus work, turn on "Help->Display hints in menus".
Mouse over any item to get an explanation of what it does.

Please let me know if that was what you were looking for.

That's a pretty complex function.
You can just ignore it.

Hi Scylla, was just wondering if it is possible to assign a variable within the restrictions of a specific action?

I understand the restrictions can be used so that villain might call a specific hand when faced with a bet of between 0-200. However, I want to assign 200 as a specific variable in order to graph it so that I can find out which point my bet-size could potentially be optimal.

Here is a picture of what I am hoping to achieve. However, when attempting to enter this, the program does not accept this input. I have also set variable #3 to 200 to ensure the problem wasn't that I was assigning a range of 0-0, but it still doesn't work.

So, is it possible or is this feature just not implemented at this specific time?

You are correct.
I have neglected to implement that.
I will take care of it for the next release.

Thank you for the feedback!

Hello Scylla.
sorry for my English.
you have the Russian support?
question.
whether the program can set that it would count EV thus:
flop:i nad KQ(from CO) vs BTN/ i am bet flop KJT, BTN raise, i call
tern: how to ask for the turn, which if released A or 9, then the opponent will be put only Street +, and if that to put the form on all range?

small feature request: could be please add labels on y- and x-axis for the graph ? we do analysis on hands and sometimes we only exchange the graph as jpg and it is always confusing which output method someone chose.

I'm afraid I don't offer support in Russian.
But google translate usually works fine.
In regards to your question, you will have to elaborate a bit, because I don't understand it.

You mean like this?

I should be able to pull that off.
