OMG. It works again! What a wonder. Can someone explain that strange behavior?

No, I accidentally made the current version expire, so I had to post a new one.

Sweet updates scylla. This beast just keeps getting better and better.

love the updates Scylla, it's so much quicker building a tree now!

Something I'd love to see is the ability to save a certain set of conditions for easy recall. eg one I use all the time for a typical raise in LHE is '>1p, oesd, fd'. If I could access this in 1 click instead of 3 separate processes it's be another huge time saver.

So how much do you have DRM? You keep on using it (I'm not complaining) so presumably it is very +EV.

Oh, and please do a StoxEV or even flopzilla for PLO. pretty please?

TANGENT: we represent NLHE hole cards as a 2-d array. How would you graphically represent PLO hands? Or even textually?

+1 Being able to copy/paste or save and reuse conditions and groups of conditions would be awesome

No comment on protection, sorry

The problem for desiging PLO software is twofold.
First one, as you point out, is to devise some sort of system for defining preflop ranges, which is easy to use and understand.
Second is to design an output format that is understandable, since there's hundreds of combinations of made hands+draws.
I haven't been able to figure it out yet, and to the best of my understanding, neither has anyone else.

Thinking about it, it's one hell of a lot of coding to say the least.
Maybe the best way to do it hasn't hit me yet.

scylla,

how can I display the total strategy value when i start my tree postflop? Is the EV displayed at each decision node an average? is there any way to make this the total?

thanks

First of all, sorry for my somewhat slow response.
I was travelling over the past week and put certain things on hold for that time (with the exception of key generation and such of course).

EV is the amount of money you expect to make (or lose) on average in a given decision.
The first decision node that StoxEV displays is the one áfter you've already posted the blinds.
Strategy EV is nothing more than your EV at the decision whether or not you should post your blind and play the hand.
Since this decision node is not displayed in the decision tree it is possible to display it separately in the upper left of the screen (to turn this on/off go to extra->display strategy EV sb vs bb).
When you start your tree postflop it is no longer possible to determine what happened preflop and therefore it's not possible to recreate the strategy EV.
For that reason strategy EV is not displayed when starting postflop.

As for the displayed EVs:
The EV that is displayed below a decision node is the total amount of money you'll make/lose for all the actions in that decision.
You can also display the EV of individual actions and conditions by moving your mouse over them.
A popup will show their EV in the last line at the top of the popup.
The matrix with individual starting hands will even show how much each hand makes.

Cheers,

Scylla

Sure, just copy paste the hand history into StoxEV using the "AQ" icon (second on the right).
To get the hand history from HEM, left-click it and select "view selected hand histories".

hi how do i do the following in stoxev Say for having a big amount of data i know that when villain raises the flop he has top pair 20% of the time and 2 pair+ 40 percent of the time and he is bluffing the other 40 percent of the time. I want to find out what the equity is of different hands versus his flop raising range?

Let him raise all in.
Then call with all your hands.
Then compute with F7.
Now hover over the call action so you get the popup that shows the EV for each hand.
Then press Alt+E and StoxEV will toggle to equity mode, and will show the equity of each starting hand.

Cheers,

Scylla

Could you send the savefile please to stoxpoker_ev@hotmail.com?
For now, what is the flop?
Also, the Alt+E toggle will only work in the registered version, so this won't work for you unfortunately.

If vill has tp 34% over pair 50 percent middle pair 1 percent over 1 percent and 2 pair or better 14 percent of the time how is it a str8 only has 25 percent equity?

You mean the 25.6% equity of the decision?
It's not the straight that has that equity, it's the entire "all hands" range, since at the time of that decision "all hands" is what your range is.
To get the equity of the straight, move your mouse over the "straight" condition and the popup will show you its equity.

Didn't save but i'll rerun the tree and if it messes up again i'll send you the file. Quick question when tinkering with different ranges do i need to restart stox? Cause i have just been useing the x button to close part of the tree and restart at that point.

Don't bother sending.
I didn't read your second reply when I replied.
Please read my previous post.

It's probably faster to double-click the conditions to edit them, or alternatively, to remove them by left-clicking and pressing Del.
