Adding the extra SSD and making sure postgres is installed there is going to give good hm2+nc+aja performance. Even better than having a single SSD as your OS swapping will still be done on the slower drive and the SSD can focus strictly on the database I/O

If you can throw an extra 8 gb memory in there even better but the big roi comes from the ssd

Do to a problem w HM2 and the sajt (Svenska spel - Boss) Im playing at I had to change hm2 version (earlier version). Now the HUD shows up in the right place but without any numbers.
Is it required to use a new version of HM2?

I'm checking on this.

I asked the NC developer. Using an earlier version can be an issue. NC 2.5.1.7 is good but you need the newest HM2 for that version.

Can you post your question along with your HM2 version/NC version in the NoteCaddy thread here in the Commercial forum? You can find your NC version in NC->Help->About NC

Hi, I have problem with downloading latest AJA nc coaching package. If i try in notecaddy: Help - download latest notecaddy coaching... IT says: "Your NoteCaddy coaching packs are now being rebuilt. You will receive an email within 30 minutes the new download URL" and no email recieved. I have been trying it for couple weeks.
My nc version is 2.5.1.6.

Is there anyone who plays 12+ tables and uses the Dynamic HUD? I play around 12-20 tables on the Winning Poker Network, and the HUD speed is too slow for me to use it without occasionally timing out. My main issue is with loading pop-ups, and for some reason, moving the HUD around the table while playing causes a decent amount of lag. I have an i7 processor, a Samsung 850 SSD, and 24 GB of RAM, and I've followed the instructions in the included pdf file for optimal performance.

Re-positioning the HUD isn't a big issue, but occasionally I need to move the HUD around if I'm sitting at a 6-max table that isn't full. Once the table is full, the HUD boxes appear exactly where they should.

This may be an issue with the poker client, but I don't really play on any other network where I'm playing 12+ tables, so I can't confirm whether this is a software issue.

A lot of email hosts get very defensive over emails that contain links to zip files. For this reason the instructions and zip are posted publicly for easier access http://assaultware.com/packinstallat...ons.aspx?ID=37

Hello.

"Because of the number of internal calculations and the nature of Zoom type games the Dynamic HUD regularly has performance issues with huge (1kk+) databases. We recommend our Premium package in that case."

Does this mean the HUD has problems with huge databases for Zoom or for all formats?

Primarily, the large db issue is with Zoom due to the nature of those games (a large part of the processor work load is loading the HUD the first time you play a hand with an opponent. With Zoom you play against a lot more opponents). The issue has occurred, albeit rarely, for players regular cash games.

The HUD comes with a NC Performance Guide which does a lot to improve performance.

By the way, whats the best way to have HM2 set up for this, meaning should I install it and have DB on SSD or can I have program and NC running on SSD and have DB on another drive (HDD)?

Your DB (postgresSQL) needs to be on the SSD. It's fine to have your entire system on a single SSD but you get a better performance if you have 2 SSDs and put postgresSQL on it's own SSD.

What can I improve to get HM2 and the HUD working better? It tengs to get stuck and clunky when im playing, mostly with various tables. I have Intel i5-4670k 3.4 GHz (4 CPUs), 8GB Ram and an SSD. I am wondering whether to upgrade processor or ram, I know you would tell me to upgrade both but if on a limited budget which should I prefer?
Thanks.

Processor and RAM meet our specs. They're fairly close to our specs but still should be working fine as long as you're not playing a Zoom type game. I'm not sure what would improve you more RAM or processor. You might post the question with your specs in the NoteCaddy thread in this forum. The NC developer knows approximately 100x what I do when it comes to computer specs.

In the NC Coaching folder, which is on your desktop, there is a NC performance guide. Did you follow all the steps? If you didn't for sure do that, it will make a huge difference. If you did, I would double check everything to make sure you didn't make a mistake. Make sure you use postgres 9.0 and not a higher version.

Try a smaller database if your current database is huge.

As a last resort you can turn off note creation while playing.

In NoteCaddy go to File->Settings and uncheck "Automatically start taking notes".

You will need to manually start note taking after each session. Just open up NC and click Start in the Creating Notes tab.

An i7 processor will create the notes faster but won't help with in game performance. The problem is that this pack creates such massive amounts of data that manipulating it chokes the life out of even an SSD which then impacts the HUD itself.

If I were an MSNL+ pro today I'd definitely invest in a RAID configuration for 2+ SSD as that's going to make a big difference

I am running an i7-4960X @3.60 ghz watercooled with 32gigs of RAM and all my pokerstuff is on one Samsung 850 PRO SSD.. Windows sits on its seperate SSD. Sometimes when I want to move the hud from left to right say to make it align properly, the hud freezes. It indeed puts a lot of stress on your gear.
I dont have that issue with NCE Ultimate running 8 tables.
Would buying 2 SSD's ( samsungs ) and put those in RAID solve that issue completely ? I know using raid makes normal HD a lot faster, but also SSD's??

I'm curious about this too. I have almost the same setup as you, except I have 24 GB of RAM. The lag when moving the HUD is bad enough that I'll just leave the HUD out of place until the table fills up.

Before a day or two ago I had never heard of that table dragging issue. I think that could be something that could be remedied with a software change.

As far as the RAID SSD goes I wouldn't guarantee it'd fix it but it will improve everything HM2/NC do just enough so that if you enjoy luxuries then this is a great investment.

I am very interested in making sure even extremely complex packs work well so I will see what I can do about the dragging problem. It seems unreasonable to think that's not something that can be remedied.

Just wanted to comment on the excellent customer service I received. I had an issue where I was having problems upgrading to a higher stake level, and I ended up paying full price instead of the difference between stakes. Alan and the NoteCaddy team helped me resolve my issue in a matter of hours.

Hey guys Does anyone use the hud for 9man cash tables? Trying to figure out how to position it, since also overhang isn't extending that much.
