Re: Ace Poker Drills: Equity Trainer / Pre-Flop Trainer / Odds & Outs and Equity Calculator

"Also included is our free Poker Equity Calculator, to verify your equity on and off the table."
so it is included with the equity trainer.

It's pretty good, helping me to start adding backdoor straight draws to my outs calculations.

Yes, but you can just use the free equity calculator. You don't need to use the entire drills apps if you don't want to as someone else pointed out:

Just the equity calculator is here: http://acepokerdrills.com/poker_equity_calculator.html

Re: Ace Poker Drills: Equity Trainer / Pre-Flop Trainer / Odds & Outs and Equity Calculator

I've just recently got the bundle and have to say I am so excited about it. I have actually incorporated it into my "Pre-game warm ups" before each session. What I do is run through the Pre-Flop Trainer at least 5 times, often more then do the same with the equity trainer and Odds & Outs. I find that it really tunes me up for the session and gets my mind working well. Very similar to stretching prior to a run! Thanks for a great product!

Has there been any thought to putting together a "Combo Trainer" by any chance? I know I have trouble with combos and after spending time with the other APD programs it made me think maybe you could come up with something for combos.

Just a suggestion

Thanks, glad you're enjoying it.

As far as your suggestion with the combo, I think it's a good idea. I'll talk with the team and see what they think. I know they are already adding combo calcs in the equity calculator.

If you have any more ideas, let me know.

Could you please explain a little further the calculations of the HINT given for the break even bluf . There is a number for EV (903, 2340, 1548 ...) that has not any explanation. Also some times the ammount that we lose or win has some "mystery" decimal. We bet 10, but we lose 9.7!!!! It is the rake? Also some more explanations for the multiply and the division of the equity.

Re: Ace Poker Drills: Equity Trainer / Pre-Flop Trainer / Odds & Outs and Equity Calculator

The equity trainer should focus more in value betting. The way it currently works is mostly a help to identify whether hero is making good or bad calls. And it is somewhat unlclear. You only get to know villains range after all action is finished so it isnt very helpful.

The action should be stopped at villain's action, and deciding what is the equity of v-betting, calling, checking, and bluffing.

You guys are already awesome so I know you can do it.

EV is your expected value. Using the formula it's W*P. There is a training video in there explaining expected value. We're going to add kind of a math 101 thing if that's what you're looking for. It's interesting to work these calculations away from the table, but it's not the main point of APD.

I think this explains it better:
http://www.youtube.com/user/AcePoker.../0/wZqxkeGEPro

As far as losing 9.7, I assume this is when you're loading hands into the equity trainer, and if so yes, it would be rake. I think it's just how the hand is converted. But if you're referencing something else, just let me know.

The primary point of the equity trainer is to learn to understand what an opponents range is after the action is completed, and then understand what your equity is against that range. We could make a trainer on value betting, but it would be a much different program.

I'm not really sure what you mean here. The action is always stopped on villains action. Sometimes (when you're in position), it will check to end the action, but it doesn't effect your opponents range at all. Your equity never changes regardless of the action you take. If you're referring to fold equity, then betting and raising will effect this, and if it's a situation where it may be profitable to bluff, APD points this out and asks you what your bluff equity is.

Sorry, trying to understand what you mean because I'm sure you have a good point here, but it seems like you're asking for a different program (value betting trainer). I'm also a little confused what you mean by not stopping on villains action (because it does do this).

Re: Ace Poker Drills: Equity Trainer / Pre-Flop Trainer / Odds & Outs and Equity Calculator

1.
request for option to hide the hole cards of the villain in and the outs trainer aspect.
the reason is , when you are counting outs in the real time, you dont' know what the villian has so he could have set, or an ace or a flush draw like yours to reduce your outs if he has a pair.
so I would like it to take my pure outs when looking into situation without being influence by what the villian has.

I would to have the ability to look against two villains so one outs like a flush draw, may be reduce on a flush draw, straight draw, jack ten board so what kind of outs do we need to really look at getting it in against two villains,, one of who may have a set.

2. will the preflop trainer help you or can it be set up help you to do better in sit and goes, mtt when you are in that push or fold range ?

3. did you look at my impression of the equity trainer ? i posted it march 4 and i didnt' get no feedback on it.

Thanks for you feedback and suggestions. The trainer does have mutli-way scenarios like you mention, but it doesn't happen as frequently. We are going to add options to make it more specific to how many opponent you want to face on the flop. We're also adding some push/fold ranges so you can visually see them as well.

We have a new version coming out tomorrow that has some new features that address some of these things. I didn't see your comment. If it's in this thread I'll go back and look. Thanks.

I don't think there is an auto update feature yet like there is in the leakbusters. to get the new version do i have to go to the main webpage and redownload it or is there an update link ?

You likely have to update to the latest version to get the auto update feature. Just go here, re-download and install: Ace poker drills software

Re: Ace Poker Drills: Equity Trainer / Pre-Flop Trainer / Odds & Outs and Equity Calculator

Two quick suggestions (which are basically the same for the new step 8 in Leak Buster):

The HUD stats are tiny! Looks like you could bump it up at least a 2 points before it would push the boundaries of the black background windows they are in.

Can you pleeeaaaasse add the option for 4 colors!

Thanks for the suggestions. We'll work on increasing the HUD stat font. The 4 color may be a little while away right now.

Each program has a different version, since they are also sold separately. So your version of the equity trainer is the latest. There may be an issue with the auto updater we're checking into though.
