Do you have a license or use it in demo mode?
Do you use it with only one PokerStars client or maybe two simultaneously? (.eu + .es for example)

I have a license & run only the ES client. I also run PT4 on the side, but I do not assume that has an impact - that program keeps running during the crash of the other two programs.

As for pot odds - what tag do you use, [:] or [%]?
What exactly it shows? Some wrong value, or empty string, or 0%, or something else?

Unfortunately I can check PokerStars.PA tables in observe mode only, so I can't check pot odds and some other things directly.

Hmm, I really don't know what it can be.
What antivirus do you use? Try to add StarsCaption to exclusions / trusted programs list there.

Can you also write a log, maybe it helps to find a reason.
To do it:
1. Turn on Options / Logging / Betscript log
2. Restart StarsCapiton and play
3. After a crash send me StarsCaption.log + StarsCaption.ini files from StarsCapiton folder (before reopening StarsCaption; or make a copy of StarsCaption.log before it).

No problem whatever input you need just ask. I use pot odds %. All CH tags display 0.

I asked what pot odds tag displays, not CH tags (above you wrote pot odds tag does not work for you too).

Does it display '0%' or something else?
Can you also check [SPR] and [effSPR] tags, do they work?

Replace this file in StarsCaption folder and let me know if CH tags and [%] works.

I clicked on the link and it brings up a whole new program of StarsCaption, is this what you meant to send me? I'd have to go through and setup a new hud to test the version of the program you sent. I can do this, just let me know.

Crazy Ivan, this is not an installer of a new version, it's just a StarsCaption.exe (main file of StarsCaption). You can manually copy it to c:\StarsCaption folder (with replace), and after this you can run it as usual. (let me know if you have problems with it and I'll made and installer for you)

Does starcaption allow you to see the action on the hand such as who raised preflop, who call, limp etc on all streets?



Is there a way on partycaption where the moment a party table opens up, it immediately goes to the info tab? I have to manually click on info tab each table and i find this a bit annoying.

1. Yes, see [actions] tag in HUD / Player panels
2. No, but you can use [CH_heroPos], [CH_countPlayers], [avst] HUD tags to display values from this tab.
Also check TL tags, there are several dozens of useful tournament tags.

1. Hey so just to confirm if starscaption can do this, i could still use starscaption to tile the tables on partypoker right? I only use 888caption/partycaption but another program now with stars. You told me last time since i dont have starscaption, i could use it for free to tile the party tables. My 888 tables are tiled the exact way i want it with 888caption.



2. Thanks. I did this back with partypoker but the thing is this takes up so much space so thats why i didn't have this anymore. The only thing i have on partycaption is like the how many players are what place im currently am, how many players left and how many get paid. But partycaption now shows this on the top left corner though. But what i notice iswhen i put those hud tags, it actually is real time and up to date? Example on left corner it on party it shows 560/800 ... but on my hud tag it shows 560/795. So basically hud tag is better since its real time right? And party itself doesn't update till right after the hand?


So with starscaption, does it do the same with realtime? But the stars info tab seem to always update though even during the hand.



3. I notice when it get to the bubble in mtt tournaments, you don't see stars update even the info tab correct till after the hand. Example in mtt where say 300 players get paid once the info shows 305 left, then 303... it sort of like pauses... then sometimes it would show now playing hand for hand. But many times when it shows okay 303 players left... it stays like that so you don't know if any players bust around the bubble. Its only once the hand is over... it suddenly show 296 players after the hand. But many times of course it might still show still 301 players left etc. So does starscaption show in real time how many players are really left in real time? If so, thats pretty neat.


4. Does 888caption update the amount of players left in real time or not? I use 888caption but never noticed if it did or not but i know 888 does show you what position you are in and how many players total left and how many in the money but i have that area blocked because i put my hud tags and other things over it so i can't see it. But is what 888 has at your position real time or its lagging like party?



5. For party and 888, how do view the hand history of previous hands as read them like stars where it shows the hand history in wording? On 888, i can only view the hand by video replayer and that is annoying because its way too slow... i dont want to watch it while playing lot of tables, thats slow and distracting. Even at full speed its ridiculously slow. And on partypoker you can view the hand history by replying it but again i rather look at it in words. Or is this a software thing and 888/partycaption doesn't do anything more than this? Is there a way to copy/paste hand history or request hh like on stars where you put in last x hands or specific tournaments?

1. Yes - while you don't play stars tables at the same time.

2. There are CH and TL HUD tags in PartyCapiton. CH tags display an info from Info tab of chat, TL tags are from the Tournament lobby. These values can be different, because partypoker updates them in different way (I don't know how exactly - you can test it or ask party about this).

3. Don't ask me how Stars updates this info - I don't know. There are two different infos - in Info tab of chat and in Tournament lobby. StarsCaption also has TL and CH tags to display these values and you can use any of them.

4. 888Capiton has TL tags only (values from Tournament lobby). Values of these tags are the same you can see in Tournament lobby (maybe with 0.1 second lag). You can try to check how 888poker updates info in a lobby (I don't know this, sorry).

5. There are no any tools in 888Caption/PartyCaption for this.

1. Thanks for this information. Well I will use starscaption soon since you say it shows the action like fold, call raise etc as that is pretty important. But do you think in any future update we could move table on party similar to like how 888 and stars could do? I would prefer to use all your software.... i only use partycaption and 888caption now and would want to use partycaption. The moving table slot thing is so good because you basically drag it to any quadrant you want and it stays there. Moving it manually on partypoker while playing many tables is a hassle as you can imagine.

Pot odds still did not show, the field displayed "0." The player tag panels for position were two off from where they should be. BB was BTN, and so on. I was unable to verify if CH_bounty worked or not. Did I miss anything?

I wanted to ask if you could add a small feature to StarsCaption. It's a great tool but I have one problem when locking Tables.

So I made a Table panel on which I click to lock Tables in their current Slot/Stack. The problem is that there doesn't seem to be a toggle indicator or something that would tell me if the Table is now locked or not. It happens alot, when playing 20+ tables, that I click on the locking hud and it does not register, or I get confused and unlock a locked Table by accident, because I thought it is not locked and there is no indicator.

Doesn't sound like much but it really takes alot of concentration away from other stuff. So would it be possible to add some toggle feature (like color change of the hud element). Maybe there is this feature already and I just don't see it (the manual is not much help here) but there seems to be toggle tags already in StarsCaption?

KidE727, [TM2_tableLocked] tag is an indicator you need.

By default it displays [•] if table is locked and [ ] if it's unlocked, and you can change these labels in HUD / Toggle tags config option (there are some other toggle tags like [hotkeys_state], [sitOutNextBB], [SitoutMode] etc that use this option too, and also there are toggle options for them are present in Table panels / OnClick, so you can make interactive buttons in HUD by using both tag + OnClick).
