I recorded a podcast that is dedicated to Bill's memory today. Once the file is cleaned up and ready I will post a link to it here.

This is great Aaron , Bill always talked about you in our sessions, and how much he valued your coaching and friendship! Looking forward to it!

I am extremely sad to hear this news. Bill was an incredible poker coach and an even better person! This is a massive loss to the world and the poker community: (. My thoughts and prayers go to his family and to all his dedicated students. RIP, Bill.

"Small-small-big" refers to a particular play that Bill liked to use, that worked extremely well in certain situations against certain types of opponents.

Another student here. I'm not going to tell you anything about Bill you don't already know. He helped my game immensely, made me think about the game differently and was a great guy and a great coach. I'll want another coach soon because the learning never stops, but no one will ever fill his shoes.

Sincerest condolences to his family, and his extended family of students. We will all miss him dearly.

It has not even been 24hrs since I received confirmation that my worst fear is a reality and my poker mentor is no longer with us. I just can't get my mind off the fact that Bill is not there anymore for me to make sure I played a huge tough hand correctly. I feel like I lost something big in my life and I just can't get over this. I feel like I lost a father. Maybe because we connected so easily (and the other student's I'm sure) and got along so well.

Bill was the most down to earth person you could ever imagine. I can't even type this without tears coming out of my eyes. I can't stop thinking about it. It is haunting me right now and I am so sad. Oh my god I wish he was still with us because I am living my dream right now, I can walk into a poker room and not worry about running good like I used to prior to 2011. Because of Bill, now I only think about making the correct plays against the correct opponents. I don't worry anymore about what cards I'm holding, I worry more about what my opponents range is. All because of how Bill taught me.

I am proud when regulars (good regular pros) tell me how much they respect me and tell me I am the best cash player at the sands and they are afraid to be in a hand with me. But it's not because of me. It's because I was taken under Bill's wing and he molded me into the player that I am today.

One of Bill's proudest moments was when he was asked to write an article for CardPlayer Magazine. He was so excited that he was going to get national recognition as a poker coach. He was so proud and so was I. He even asked me to proof read his rough draft a few times. However, I thought to myself "omg now the games are going to get tough if everyone knows about him".

Bill Hubbard was a true genius. Bill had a complete lesson plan that started with his quiz to see how much we sucked, then he went right into preflop play, cbetting, creativity, and his big one was bet sizing. We spent hours upon hours on bet sizing which he emphasized was one of the most underrated aspect of the game but also the most important (not only for one street but for the whole hand) all the way to another one of his biggies advanced handreading - I sit there watching good pro's make calls when I know they are losing due to all the handreading sessions and my handreading skills. Then there were all his verbal quizzes to make sure I was comprehending what he was teaching me. He was so proud of me when I get them right. Bill had it all planned out like a genius.

Justin, I want to thank you for enticing this man to start coaching. Because now he didn't just die. He died a Legend.

I wanted to let everyone know that several of Bill's family members have been watching these posts and they are so proud of Bill and how many lives he touched and how well respected he was. I find myself in the same boat. Its amazing to see the amount of love in the thread and I have to believe somehow somewhere Bill is out there somewhere in a better place and can really feel like he accomplished something down here.

He certainly accomplished a lot. He helped so many people. I know he helped me more than he'll ever know. From the plays he taught me, I'm about to move up in limits, and had so much more to discuss an learn with him. I'm hoping I learned enough to continue on and make him proud.

I remember him coming on Skype - messaging "Are you ready to ROCK?" when it was time to start. I loved that. So cool.

You knew Bill cared about you. I remember him telling me early on "I know you're gonna make it". It was hard to believe at he time, but I believed him and kept pushing. I had a sense that he wouldn't say that unless he really believed it. His influence kept me going.

I wish he could be here to see how all his teachings bring his students success. I wish he was here to be my cornerman / friend as I step up in limits. I wish he knew how much he impacted my life. I wish...

We should start a skype group with Bill's students only and do hands reviews and poker discussions.

Maybe an hour a week and carry it on. I would gladly get it started if there is enough interest.

I keep thinking about this dude..... I've always been a slight winner at 2/5 cash and within ONE session, this guy changed my whole outlook on how to approach the game.. Along with plugging gaping hole type leaks that I never would of been able to do on my own.

I'm a school teacher by trade and I really envied his ability to break every concept down to be easily understood by anyone..Something I strive to do everyday with my students now.

battagd1 sent you a pm. Thanks for setting that up.

Also would anyone be interested in sweating each other? Looking for someone that had a decent amount of coaching time with Bill and knows his playing style he taught us. Preferably someone playing around the same stakes as me 1/2 2/4. Hopefully we can carry on his playing style, "evolves", and simple moves that work so well.

Hey guys, here is the podcast my friend Chuck and I recorded yesterday.

It's a memorial episode of Bill. I went through some old emails and skype conversations I had with him over the years and I pulled out some quotes and discussions we had and we talk about them.

It's not officially out until next week but I wanted to release it here for you guys who also miss Bill.

RIP Buddy. You always brought a smile to my face. You were one of the funniest guys I knew. You worked your ass off and I always massively respected you for that. You were one of the most appreciative people I ever coached. You always were quick to say nice things about me to others and I rarely heard you say anything negative about anyone at all. You were just a really ****ing good dude and I hate that you are no longer with us.

RIP Bill. We miss you.
