Very sceptical to this... Not very much knowledge on this part on the poker world though, but to me its not understandable why you dont use those superb pokerskills to earn money on the game instead.. And I also think you are able to learn whatever he learns you yourself if you sit down for an houre motivated to analyze your game.

You probably don´t expect this, but i agree with the part that everybody could learn it on their own. Thats what others and myself have done.
What students really invest in is TIME.

Think about if your math teacher would have never taught you calculation. I assume you´re smart and at some point you would have figured it out on your own by counting fingers, apples and such. Now despite you being smarter, other people will probably evolve faster if they learn it right away.

Why did people pay me more than $500 /hr for coaching ? Because what they learn in one hour saves them a couple of monhts of trial and error.

Tldr:

We all have different motives for doing what we´re doing. If you think money is the only motive that drives people, you´ll have a hard time explaining wikipedia, open source software and such.


Here´s my side of the story. Since this question has come up, i´ll answer it once and forever:

I rarely play poker anymore, but have just set down and
made exactly 10161 Euro in the last hour (2k over EV ). Sometimes there is this little boy in myself who still wants to know that he can beat the game whenever he wants. So yes, i can turn on the money printer any time.

Ok, you probably don´t wanna hear my life story, but the short version is that i want to learn a new skill and explore other areas. All of my poker buddies thought (and still think) that i´m a bit insane.

This new skill is building a first class business. A business that serves others so well that they´re happily gonna pay a fraction of what its worth.
So while its "not about the money" , i do wanna improve further in the business game and creating unprofitable businesses doesn´t help anybody.



Thats my story. Different people have different motives.

thought id post a little review on gordons work he put into the HU mastermind course

well what can i say apart from wow! HU obviously is the hardest varient of poker to learn with such wide ranges that there is no way i would ever be capable of playing profitably before starting this course i would of been like''there is no way i can raise that hand here''

but now its of course im raising that hand i know i will gain profit from it

his teaching method is great aswell everything you need is there (keep in mind i am only on the pre flop section of the course just now) but his HUD you get is perfectly laid out with the stats you need to make the most profitable decisions,

before i would question do i call here?do i raise here?or do i fold and i would pick hands on a ''feel'' or i think its good enough,but now i can work out what hands i can play for a profit and how to play them

not only that i can now sit down knowing that i can play pretty much any opponent(at this moment in time the better players might be able to still profit from me) but i know how to adjust to any opponent and how to play the most optimal strategy against his style

but the best thing of all is it isnt a hard course atall i seriously think anyone who has read the rules of poker and knows terminology of poker can start crushing the games, i was shocked how much iv learned in such a short space of time and how simple and effective it has been

im now not the guy who sits at a table and plays a standard game, im now the guy adjusting to you immediately and exploiting your weaknesses with absolute ease

and this is just pre flop(i aint even started the post flop section yet)

+ as a bonus learning tool there is a forum where gordon happily answers any question and explains things in greater detail ( from the short time iv been on the site i have seen him make a video for a student on 4bet pots and make a video based on a question on one of the videos , i feel gordon really does care about our success)

+ as another bonus learning tool there is the homework exercises which really hammer into your mind how to play the strategy on offer and makes you think about decisions and have a proper mindset

so in a nutshell HU mastermind is the best HU course i have ever came across, and this strategy taught will in my eyes be effective for a very long time

i mean imagine sitting down and instantly knowing how to exploit any opponent ,knowing what hands to play and how to play them

so kudos to gordon for making this it really is such an amazing course and i recommend no one gets it because the games are soo weak now knowing what is taught in the course it really isnt any wonder how he has taught people to make 100k in such a short time people are seriously just that ****

Could you perhaps post a review after you've gone through the postflop section/ or the entire course and tell us what you think. Maybe showing a graph before and after following the course.

hey stevos i will post a full review of the course in around a months time

but i thought i would post a little review based on what i have seen already

and the simple answer is it will pay for itself the course really does help a bloody hell of alot!

what i can say without giving away to much about the course e.t.c is this

1) you watch the video (and yes gordon has a **** tonne more experience than me and yes im not the best player in the world and all that ****) and you think to yourself meh he knows what hes doing every time this could put me in some uncomfortable spots

2) you do the homework and you know that little lightbulb that lights up in the cartoons over their heads well it happens when you do the homework haha i have seen seldom people adjust to me and if they do ''try'' and the word is TRY the end up doing it in the wrong ****ing way and i end up with more of their money haha its really that simple

the homework is such a good interactive part of the course yes you lose the benifit of gordon working with you(he is in the forums e.t.c but obviously its not like having him on the live coaching)

BUT the homework you see why it works and trust me it does(and yes as youv stated i aint done the post flop stuff yet so some of my decisions post flop are a bit touch and go as of yet) but i can tell you one thing from going to a losing yes il swallow my pride a losing nl ****ing 10 HU player i can now safely say i feel i can sit down and hold my own pre flop at the moment against pretty much any opponent because i know how to adjust its really just that simple

was it a big desision for me to take the course ?course it was i work part time in bloody fast food haha, was it worth it? oh god yes this course will make you a winner thats all i can say

there is some things they could be worked on IMHO the forum needs a HU mastermind section so everything is all grouped together so if were stuck on a specific subject we can read through older posts aswell as ask gordon

but apart from that you take the course and within(well i dont actualy know how many months) but from the short time iv been on the course the significant improvement in my pre flop game would of took me months to learn through trial and error

so in short go on and join up its worth it or dont ? and il play you HU and take the 1k of you that the course costs haha

but in all seriousness the videos are straight to the point,the homework teaches you a practical way of learning,the forums(which in future will obviously get better) will be a great tool to learn aswell with every1 learning same course, = a great way to learn HU cash at an affordable price if you are serious about making poker work

Program useful if HUD gets banned:

I don't see this happen for various reasons. Taylor Caby wrote a nice post about it, if somebody wants to dig it up.

But even IF, the lessons learnt will actually stay the same. It will just be harder since the HUD is such an amazing tool ... IF USED CORRECTLY !

So if for whatever reason the hud gets banned, you´ll have a harder time. But the principles taught in the course remain the same, no matter if you use a HUD or NOT.

Think about the HUD like STEROIDS. You can lift weight and get strong without them. But as long as they´re healthy, you´d be stupid to not take them.



I´ve probably played 2 million hands life time. I don´t know exactly, but thats a fair estimate if you calculate hands from my SNG/MTT times in.
