So I had my coaching session last night with "Mr.Gordon Gekko" (yeah, well he's the Wall Street guy of Poker
and wanted to sleep on it before I came rushing in to write on the session while I was still full of excitement and enthusiasm...
... so now its the morning in my timezone and guess what? ...I'm still excited and even more enthusiastic!!
When we first started off I had a sneaking feeling that I somehow "knew" Gordon .. so when I asked his name (uh huh) and he told me who he was, I wasn't surprised at all as I had subscribed to get info from him before which I had found helpful and particularly enjoyed because of his attitide ...that's a WIN! serendipity has a way of working things out ...
We started by N. (I wont totally out him but in case some think the whole Gordon Gekko thing is some elaborate scam, its not, its just a name ... additionally I kinda hope he doesn't let people know who he is as that just makes more information available to my competition) taking an interest in me as a person and what was important to me in life and poker ... wow! refreshing! another WIN!
Then we proceeded to get down to business ... Im not going to talk about specifics because the way he works will be different for everyone based on learning style and what each individuals needs/goals are. Mine were met. Another WIN!
I came away from the session with information applicable to my game that will change things for me if I take responsibility and do what needs to be done according to my style. WIN!
I could go on and on and I have to say that I am writing this because Im holding up my end of the deal about giving a testimonial ... I like to give praise/thanks where its due, however in this case, and I know it sounds bad, but If I didn't have to, I probably wouldn't and that's only because I would like to keep this a secret and not have others learning and getting access to N.'s teaching/coaching ... why would I want to make my games more difficult?
Summary: 1 Hour coaching session @ deeply discounted rate: $100
Meeting Gordon Gekko which included (in my case) Countless laughs and eye opening information, 5 pearls of wisdon and 1 "AHA!" moment : Priceless
Do yourself a favour and check this out, I feel inspired again, maybe you're next?
Thanks N. You da man!
Cheers,
Colin
