Pretty new at this stuff, simple Q, prolly asked before.
Someone has 1k package for sale with 1,2 mu.
I buy 50% for 600.
He cashes 1K total, do I get my 600 back or only 500 and player keeps that 100.
How does it normally goes?

Make Up vs Mark Up?

Anyone have some thoughts/input on comparing the 2 different staking/investment options?

By staking a player, and going 60/40 or 50/50 etc... with make up etc...the only way the player makes any $ is to be profitable, which is aligned with the investor.

I am new to Mark Up, and it seems like a much greater situation for the player than the investors, player could be profitable for him/her self and investors lose (ie 10/15% profit on a package, and sold at a higher markup).

Would be great to see some thoughts on the 2 scenarios and when/where they become neutral expected value for the backer.

Seems to me if I backed and horse played, we go 50/50 with a make up, he returns 20% profit over time, I would earn 10%.

Equating that to mark up, with same expected profitability of 20%, paying 1.1 markup would return roughly the same 10% profit, paying 1.2 would be break even, and anything higher horse would be a winner and backer a loser.

Any thoughts?

mark up makes the one tournament/one day/one package system of the 2p2 forums work really smoothly. I never buy makeup packages.

Your thoughts are accurate but I don't know anyone who has long term makeup sales on 2p2.

Do any of these BAPs ever accept paypal? I understand the chargeback issue on paypal so I'm going to assume not but I'm just asking because I can't access my poker clients while at work.

paypal bans gambling for US customers. I think its allowed in some EU countries, but its generally hush hush. So, Sometimes.

I think you're misunderstanding the question. I'm not asking whether I could deposit onto a poker client with paypal, I'm asking whether any of these poster who are selling action ever accept payments on paypal rather than only the p2p transfers on the sites they are playing themselves. I know people hate using paypal because of the stupid chargeback policies & the fees & how easy accounts can get flagged.

I've moved money around on paypal with poker players before to buy pieces. I've just sent the money as family or friends so there can be no chargebacks, paypal doesn't need to know what's happening. It's not the most ideal way but I know they do it in the fantasy sports forum quite a bit & just wondering if they do it here too although reading the threads it's never mentioned as a payment option, which I can understand.

A few players take PP but even fewer advertise it in their OP. I tend to just ask players if they take PP or I look through their old selling threads to see if others has asked.

hey, anyone know if theres a cool excel/ods. blank file for sellers that would calculate the splits. I run usually stakeback packs and it hurts brain a bit after 14h session to do the numbers. And im bit crap with excel myself tbh.

Thats why markup packages are so great. Math is as simple as can be for both buyers and sellers.

I'm new to the staking game and I have a couple of questions.

Recently I saw people selling 100% for stake ate 80/20, 70/30 backer's favor.
How would this actually work then, stakeback meaning player pays investors back in case he doesn't win some Return on the investment?

2nd question is about somebody saying R/O are preferred in his package, what does R/O mean?

Thanks guys.

If the player sells a $100 package and cashes for $150, the $100 would be paid back to the backers first and then the $50 profit split at 80/20. If he only cashes for $20 then the entire $20 would go to the backers. The player never has to pay out of pocket to make up losses though.

RO = Rollover. E.g. you invested in someone and instead of shipping back after the package you roll it into the next one if you wanted to invest again.

Also new here, curious about people selling their (1 table) sng action....

Why would someone prefer to sell 70% of their action at $100 sngs and keep 30% for themselves, than just play the softer, $30 sngs and keep 100% for themselves?

Is it something to do with points/rakeback?

hey guys, not sure if this has come up before but havent seen anything in the forms. I have a good friend who wants to a shot at sport betting seriously. He has a great record this past yr but bets small, i know small sample but he knows his ****. His lifestyle wont allow him to take a shot at betting higher ( wife, mortgage etc). id like to help him out by staking him. How would I go about doing this? I take all his losses and 75% of winnings until my initial deposit is returned then 50/50 on contract for 2 yrs?? he will have a job so doesnt need cashflow by any means and assume there is no opp cost of my capital. honestly dont know where to start, never staked before in poker and no info online in the area.. any help much appreciated!
