I am really confused by the policy on this site. I want to sell some action on Sundays play as N0b0dy. Could get big player refs and even stars VIP rep to reference me, but the mods here want me to post on forums...

Question for mods:

Is there a way we can get some sort of code label [Example: (***US Acc.***)] for threads selling shares where the player is accepting money such as Merge, PayPal or US Bank xfers. I always go through all the threads trying to find these types and it'd save a lot of time for myself and people doing the same.

Obviously the players could put the label themselves or if they're accepting something of the sort and don't put the label a mod could add it on later.

I'm sure this is discussed somewhere else, but I couldn't find it...

What is the going rate for people trying to sell their FT balance?

Could someone please point me to where that is being discussed or answer the question?

Thanks.

Have been browsing here for some time to find some nice low/mid stake package for occasional sweats, but meh, between 20% and 30% seems standard these days... too much if you ask me.
Don't want to derail stake threads, that's why i posted my concerns here...

Posted this in the wrong subforum, so repost:

Hi guys, I have a question.

I wanted to grind some EPT side events in Madrid (sat to the ME, 2k Holdem, 1k Holdem and possibly some lower turbo's in there..) and was thinking of selling some shares on here. My last few packages have run extremely well and were generally sold out very quickly and have a pretty unblemished reputation. The point is however that for poker tournaments in a foreign country I have to pay 29% Tax over my profit - this rule is for everybody in The Netherlands and as silly as it is I cannot deduct selling 50% of my action from the total profit. So my question is would such a package sell or am I just going to get flamed for asking (what effictively is going to be) a pretty high MU?

My stats are:

My Statistics
9,584 $25 $83 40% $235,902

And as for live experience I have 2 cashes over like 15 tourny sample (11th in a 1500 FO for 6.7k and 3th in a 550 Bounty for 4.8) plus some decent live cash experience.

My past few threads are here:

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/16...no-mu-1166125/
http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/16...no-mu-1166983/

I do honestly believe that I am still a +EV buy even with those tax deductions otherwise I would not be playing them in the first place but just wanted to get some input.

Note that in my previous package I sold without mark-up but was told by a lot of people including buyers that I really should be charging MU - something I haven't seen often in the Marketplace.

Some general thoughts on the Merge packages:

Mainly I'm wondering about what Markup should be in general in a lot of these packages, especially the ones during the week. I started thinking about this because I buy action a lot and notice a lot of these tournaments don't have a very big field size. Merge also seems more "reg-infested" than a site like the traditional Stars/FTP. It just doesn't seem to me like people should be marking up their action at the same price they would be with Stars.

Now, one argument is that they'd be stupid to lower it when they're getting booked anyways. But if in reality the markup should be a bit less people are more likely to eventually get to the point where they realize it's not as profitable and just stop buying action all together.

I don't want to go into anyones individual thread and say anything about this because that's rude, unethical, etc. and I don't think I'm allowed to start a thread in the forum for this so I'm posting it here where, unfortunately, not many people are gonna see it. But I think it's definitely something that's true. I have a degree in actuarial science, minor in stats, very good with numbers, etc. and I'm pretty sure I'm right here. A lot of the MTTs I pull up that are parts of packages literally have 40-50 players and those one's are sort of higher stakes like $20 or $30 rebuys, sometimes $80 rebuys, etc. and these have a lot of regs in them. There's no way someone has a huge ROI in those and we're paying 19-24% in a lot of the packages.

Just a thought. I'll probably keep booking action because there's still value there and it's technically +EV, but I'm pretty sure there's not a ton of value at all. Seems like the investors should be getting more value here too because they are, after all, a part of this whole equation in the marketplace.

Is there a specific procedure needed to be done to start selling packages?
What is meant by 'having an account on good standing'?

account in good standing just means not having scammed or been involved in shady stuff. Once you have been a member for 6 months and read the marketplace sticky you'll be able to start threads.

My account is from August last year but I haven't been here much. Would I still be able to qualify if I complete the other requirements? I also think that eventhough my account was registered more than 6 months ago it wasn't activated until recently.

I have a lot of references and people who can vouch for me here additionally.

I think account creation is the most important part. References and vouches are meaningless.

Few things that haven't been talked about in the buyer/seller relationship that I try to look/do for when I can

1) Talk to them- With skype this is a lot easier, you can find out a lot about the person just by the way they talk and act towards you. If it feels good, its probably good

2) Have a career outside of poker- Young guns that travel and play all the time seem to lose their edge and try to have their raw ability do all the work for them. People that use poker as a profitable hobby I find not only take their game seriously, but aren't looking at the tournament as the chance to bink to get food on the table, its a way to make money on the side, and that mindset is everything

3) 0% ROI is better than getting rolled - Oftentimes if its too good to be true, then it probably is. I have seen people time and time again make investments they know seem too good to be true only to see it stolen within a week, yes without risk sometimes you hit yourself in the head but having the money sit idle is better than putting it in a bad spot

I'm sure I'll think of others but will be interesting to see what the MP has in store... I think I might return for a 7-10 days this summer so hopefully its active

Sorry guys, marketplace noob here...it seems like the vast majority of packages I have seen are for MTTs, is this the correct forum to sell a cash package for?

Hello, I am looking for Investor feedback on my MP offer.
My first shares thread after BF got insta-bought by MK pending some references, which were delivered.

I sold a few more packages to him and others, showed receipts, no results.
http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/18...08-mu-1123791/
I live in Tallahassee, and Jacksonville is blowing up pokerwise, and yet I cannot seem to sell a single share to the 5k WPT event.

Tufat23 was kind enough to point out a few possible problems, and I would like to invite anyone to click my thread,

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/18...er-mu-1179573/and either post here preferably, post there, or PM me what they think the problems are, and what I should try to do to fix them, not just for this package, but for future ones ( I plan to play wsop this summer and circuit in New Orleans again).

Here is what might I think might or even might not be a problem so far:

1) I have a low post count. (2 year old account, I lurk a lot, don't post a lot, this wall of text might be a good start)

2) I have no Hendon Mob. ( I have no live results save for a $6k score last week. I have played about 7 large live tournaments total, and 4 megas, won a seat in 2 of them.)

3) my new thread had no references. (but my old thread which was linked in it did)

4) No proven ROI in tourneys, (but excellent win rate in cash games over good sample)

5) My MU. I thought it was too low, then I thought it was too high, then I realized I have no clue.

Tufat thinks that the safety of investing in me is the problem, how can I help alleviate this?

for the TLDR...

Cliffs:
Am a winning cash game regular, with great CG stats, but little online or live tourney success. did FT a 750$ tourney live last week, and chopped for $6k score.
Sold shares for first time instantly, at the end of 2011.
Trying to sell again now, unable to sell at all.
Opening and inviting thoughts and criticism on why this is, the offer, future offers, what is reasonable, etc...

PS, Doggz- I am hoping for your thoughts the most, you seem to be active in these threads and forums on MP, and I want an honest critique. Thank you in advance

Unfortunately, I have no good answer for you. The MP doesn't seem interested in investing in players who don't have any proof of their tournament ability.

The only way for you to really alleviate this is to play some smaller events and accrue some results. You may be able to sell action into events under $1000. That trust along with some results can go a long way.

So you feel it is just a lack of results then, not references, MU, risk of scam, or any of the other stuff I mentioned?

A large backer mentioned to me that they felt that a big winner in online cash games= a good investment in live MTT, since the fields are so soft. The transition should be there. (IE, Pius Hienz, Cash game pro not tourney pro). That being said, and with my recent small tourney cash, what do you think is a reasonable MU for
1) $5k WPT jville (70%)
2) $1650 WSOPC new orleans ME (50%)
3) WSOP $10k ME (70%)
4) WSOP $1500k NL event (50%)

Also, do you think an even money sell is +ev to an investor?

*If we are talking about non-main event tournaments. I think the wsop ME probably plays well to cash game pros due to how deep and how slow it is.

So that would be reason to back me in 5k WPT then? slow 5 day structure.

Yes it was MK. What makes you say he didn't do well. He had a chunk of Pius didn't he? That should put him in black alone. I think he had 2 Milly invested or so last summer.
