$1000 tournament package that you sell 75% @ 1.2 markup.

Investors would send you $900 for 75%.

You would only need to cash for x*.25=$100 to break even for yourself (x=$400 in cashes).

If you only cashed for $100 in that package, you'd be down only $75 on the day.

The example above is something that I think many sellers don't understand.
Completely agree DoGGz.
Even if you only sell 50% the risk you are taking on (i.e. variance) is hugely reduced vs not selling any action.
i.e. in your example above - if you sell 50% for $600. Your downside is limited to $400 instead of $1k.
If you cash for $500, you lose $150 instead of losing $500 in the case where you sell no action.
etc.

My 2 cents... I love the fact that it is an open market like AmirSf describes.... And people have been berated before (myself) for putting up certain packages or MUs... I think that is silly.. After my thorough education of the subject of MU this summer I feel that there are a large # of people who are selling packages at Redic MU's, but I don't say anything I just don't buy... Obv the "Market" thinks other wise which is good for them..

People should stop using the abbreviation MU. MU can be misinterpreted as mark up or make up. Just type it out, imo. Obv people should be able to distinct the two also.

As a seller, I disagree with this vehemently. It is massively shortsighted. There are a limited number of funds in the marketplace to go around and people who have been rolled or overpaid for steaks are much less likely to come back. Many steaking superstars have said so much with their experiences with WSOP this summer.

I'm not going to argue about this back and forth because I recognize it is merely just two opinions, neither one is correct per say, but I will state this as many times as the opposite opinion comes out.

I havent bought shares before.
In wsop you have to fill in a tax form if he wins, but thats not the case for wcoop?

You aren't required to fill out a tax form for the WCOOP like in Vegas at the WSOP. What you owe in taxes on your wins depends on where you live.

You're missing my point. I am not directing this post at you. I am saying this should be written out in people's threads, simply because makeup and markup are both terms used in the staking business.

ProfessorBen, I agree with you.

I suggest again that a thread will be added in the marketplace to specifically discuss mark up.
I think that can be a good tool to help in keeping investors informed.

yeah, but I got this idea and never seen this done before. So my question would be could I do it or it would be not right/appropriate or something?

Or this would be the case:

a general question, just because i'm curious if there's preference either way

i plan on playing ~8 miniftops events. in general, would you prefer that all 8 be sold in 1 package, or would you rather see a package for each day that includes the other action from that day as well?

1 package meaning the 8 events, or all action for all those days?

It really depends dmk. If you don't really want to sell action for your daily mtts then just make an 8 event package.

Another option would be to include a couple of your bigger daily mtts with the package, so 8xmftops, 8xDNG and 8x10r

I actually do for now - I was just wondering if that is seen as a positive/negative/etc. I know, in general, EV/ROI is going to be higher in just straight miniftops events. So I was just curious if, as an investor, you'd prefer to see an 8x miniftops package or 6x daily packages, each containing 1 or 2 miniftops events, and whether you felt it was balanced w/ regards to ROI/variance/blabla

Re: ***Official Staking Discussion Thread: Use this thread for Selling Shares advice/questions*

Personally I would go for the daily packages instead of the mftops one. If you know exactly which of the 8 days you're playing you could throw all of it into 1 gigantic package but I think that would be a bit bulky.

A good idea would be to perhaps put 2 days of mtts into 1 package. So then you would have 3/4 packages in total

Not sure if this has been suggested, but could mods give OPs the ability to edit their post titles? Seems that would save having to PM/bother mods with changing thread titles to "Closed" or "Sold Out."

Lets say a site pro needs to sell some high stakes actions that obviously he is not rolled for it or it is high variance stuff that he can control a bit. Should he come out and post it so everyone can see it or he should just search for a private backer in another way??? Remember we have to take in consideration his reputation and his contract with the site.

ZeeJustin and ike both sold action to the highroller WCOOP on here, and both are likely better then whoever you are talking about.

What are the chances of being staked here for a package of Sunday's big NL miniftops and SCOOP events? Tentatively the:
-$216 WCOOP
-$24 miniftops 6max
-$70 miniftops ME

I would throw in the double deuce on my own and run makeup at the 45sngs on tilt.

Doomsdaydonkey on fulltilt
El Mooklar on pokerstars

I've been staked by CPT CRUX/Colonel Mustard (member here) at fulltilt where I recently experienced a downswing. After some time off (the massive grind) I feel a lot better about my game and I'm in a better state to be playing.

Does this sound brutal? Alterations? What should I offer
