The other day, I was having an argument with Low Key and I told him to "keep trolling." MrWookie banned me for 24 hours.

I saw this post by [Phill], and sent Wookie a PM asking for a clarification on the rules.

I just reported the post. This is the PM exchange between myself, and Wookie.

I was banned for saying Low Key was trolling. Calling someone a troll is obviously a personal attack, but is saying someone is trolling equivalent?

If you want to accuse me of inconsistency here, I'll agree with you and then stop caring.

Wookie, you show as much regard to the forum rules as Obama does to the constitution.

As many problems as I have with Wookie's modding, I pretty much agree that rules that apply to behavior directed at "serious posters" shouldn't necessarily apply to posters that no one takes at all seriously. Although it doesn't help that there are a lot of posters who sometimes are serious posters but often are trolling and shouldn't be taken seriously, and I do think Low Key falls into that category at times.

I'm more upset that we probably can't call LirvA a troll and have our posts live. At least steelhouse is entertaining.

my response to lirvas PM

I mean I'm responsible for the steeeeeeeeeeeeeeellhouse meme here so I don't really have a leg to stand on. Also I'm not sure what you expect me to do particularly. I try to mod the forum in a somewhat balanced way but I'm certain I have biases that affect how I react to different people's posts. Wookie has no imperative to be fair and even handed, this is private property and the property owners have engaged wookie to run it as he sees fit if you don't think the owners would approve of the job he is doing you can talk to them via PM and if they agree they'll ask him to change his behaviour, otherwise you have the option to deny 2+2 your revenue through boycott.

Realistically steelhouse isn't making any attempt to be taken serious and obviously Low Key is (at least as often as most politics posters are). Calling one a troll is a lot different from the other. It's not a double standard because they're not at all analogous situations.

Lirva, are you ever not whining about something?

No, I'm pretty sure LirvA is every bit as well respected as steelhouse...

Noted. Well Mr. Wookie, what do you have to say for yourself now that this is on your permanent record?

Spoiler:
Typical inconsistent, lefty mods have got to go.

I mean, to elaborate, I guess congratulations are in order for Lirva who, after all these years, has finally realized (granted, after I spelled it out for him in no uncertain terms) what the vast majority of the forum has known since the Bush administration: that steelhouse gets treated differently. So it was with the mods before me. So it will be with the mods after me. Sicut erat in principio, et nunc, et semper, et in secula seculorum, amen.

Shocking that an individual poster would be treated individualisticly. Does anybody else find the lack of political generalizations ITT is disturbingg

This is way bigger than the UB scandal, and if you link the UB scandal and Cornell Fiji together and multiply it times maybe 10 or so, you're going to get in the zone where WOOKIEGATE is.

Why is a poster as bad as Lirv getting undertitles? Hasn't he run out of leash yet?

I think some mods/admins think he's a cute mascot, like the dog that ****s all over your carpet but looks so happy doing it.

I just dislike the undertitle because I don't read it carefully and it fills me with hope.

Lirva stopped looking happy doing it months ago.

I've always thought "probably temp-banned" should be Lirvs undertitle.

I have no idea how you get that combination of letters when you try to type "my", maybe don't use the guns for typing?

Spoiler:
the above statement does not reflect my wishes for DBJ, just his oft-temp banned status
