I had a cheeky bet on Shaun Murphy when he was 20/1 a few months ago. That's looking decent value right now!

Trump the guy that should take this. If he can relax and play his game he's got all the tools, plus youth is on his side.

How can we watch this? Is it live streamed anywhere?

Would anyone be interested in a pool?

depends on where you live I suppose, and if it's on TV there. Sadly I couldn't find TV listings per country on worldsnooker.com, they have overhauled their website's look at last but the content is still pretty lacking.

If it isn't on TV in your country, world snooker offers a streaming service for their tournaments. Costs 3.99 pounds for the first two months.

I have a sneaky feeling Shaun Murphy is going to take this so ive lumped a small £20 on him.

truly this. unbelievably, they'll occasionally pair him with dennis taylor, who's even worse. re: taylor, this is the bbc's take on him from 4 years ago:

Thank you for your comments with regard to ‘World Snooker’ broadcast on BBC Two on 01 May.

I understand you feel the quality of Dennis Taylor’s commentary leaves much to be desired.

The range of tastes and opinions held by our audience is so diverse that it's inevitable some viewers will dislike or disapprove of certain presenters. It's a very rare TV or radio personality who meets with everyone's approval, and it's clear that opinions on individual presenters can vary considerably.

Programme contributors are appointed on the basis of their experience and talent, but judgements are often subjective and we would never expect everyone to agree with every choice we make. We don't engage any producer, presenter, interviewer or reporter unless we believe they're competent and can meet the specific demands required of them.

I do understand you feel very strongly about this, so I’d like to assure you that I’ve registered your concerns on our audience log. This is a daily report of audience feedback that's made available to many BBC staff, including members of the BBC Executive Board, programme makers, channel controllers and other senior managers.

is he the guy who always says "where's that cueball going?"
04-20-2015 , 09:07 AM
that's virgo. taylor's the other irish guy that offers zero content other than making references to james wattana any time someone goes for a pot in the middle

nearly an epic choke from hawkins there

Are there any good **********s?

I like Ken's commentary. Actually I prefer all of the newer additions to the dinosaurs. Davis, Hendry, Doherty are far better than Virgo, Thorne, Taylor. The amount of times Thorne suggests a shot that I can see is clearly not on with the one camera angle I have available to me is really irritating. As a knowledgeable snooker viewer (and snooker attracts that type of fan, so I am not unique) the most useful thing a commentator can do is fill in the gaps e.g. when I can't tell from the TV angle whether one ball passes another or whether the potting angle affords position to the next ball. I get that it's not always possible for them to tell but if that's the case, don't ****ing guess and lead the viewer to the wrong conclusion. That's just bread and butter. I like Hendry's commentary... so gung ho even in the commentary box!

Had a bet on the asians this year. I fancied Murphy pre tournament but my dad had a bet on him so I thought it'd be boring to do the same. Got Marco Fu at 130 and Ding at 17 on Betfair. I see them both as being very capable but out of form. Fu historically doesn't do well in the World and most likely plays Trump but I still think 130 is a little high. If he can nick a couple of frames early on I fancy I can lay off my bet and then sweat a "free" bet for a decent profit. Basically, seemed worth a punt. I'm not so keen on my Ding bet right now tbh. Just looks too inconsistent. If he doesn't kill Mark Davis off fairly quickly there's a good chance he goes out 1st round. Davis is a tough cookie if it goes close.

04-21-2015 , 11:48 AM

04-21-2015 , 12:36 PM
I'm an old fellow, haven't watched snooker for years. Always liked Ronnie ofcourse. So i would like to bet on him.

Watching his first session i fancy him to take it. Whats the website i want to bet with?

Whats your favorite bets?

I also like Hendry as a commentator ... its just a shame he did not take up the wildcard that was offered to him.

Even today he is still probably better than most.

I know, but back then you'd see a crucible maximum about once in five years

that is not how pool works. It is guessed by some including in a pool book I read that age 40 is usually a persons peak, if they stick with pool throughout their life. experience in pool is a major factor.

of course prodigies also occur.

Lol.

Ronnie played in his socks for a bit yesterday and risks a fine. He borrowed a pair from the tournament director to finish the session.

Pool and snooker are completely different in my book, 40 year old snooker players are not then at their peak .. thats for sure.
