The rubber was surprisingly good, I think it was a recent addition that they failed to use proper adhesive on.
Here's where I'm at:
I've decided against new cloth til next year, as this isn't as bad as I first thought. The stains are slowly but surely being beaten back, and it turned out to be Championship cloth and not the no-name bar junk I thought it was.
The wood of the end rail was totally destroyed and had nothing left to staple to (you can see it on the left edge of the table), so I built a new one from scratch. The other two side rails I've uncovered have been in much better shape, and I've been able to just re-glue the rubber and recover them. Hopefully the last 3 are as good.
Got the painted laminate fairly clean using contact cement thinner and scrapers on it, with the rails removed. I may eventually re-laminate them, but they're plenty good for now.
I ordered two of
these bad boys for light. At a combined 7600 lumens, they'll be plenty bright enough.
I also found a new set of Cyclop skittles balls on ebay for $200 CAD shipped, so I'm pretty durn excited about that. The balls that came with the table may have been the worst "set" that I've ever seen.
In the pic it looks pretty crowded, but once done I'll have over 5 feet of room all the way around, so it'll make for some relaxed stroking. No obstacles.
Wheeee! So excited!
