Ipoker Snooker Degens 2012 Ipoker Snooker Degens 2012

There's been a fair amount of snooker interest in the ipoker ssnl regs thread recently but understandably some people don't want to read about it all the time. I love the game though and enjoy a punt on it even more. So this will be a thread where anyone can come to talk snooker and gambling.

I've been talking up Judd for a while now. Have a £1k double on him to win the Masters and World Championship this year @ 40/1.

I also set aside £500 for the Masters to bet with and have managed to increase that to £550 after the first rounds.

My treble for the quarters and i believe Higgins is a certainty to beat Dott tonight:

Treble pays £510 and single pays £250.

Nice one ... i play a bit of snooker ..

My 12 year old son borrowed my cue last night to go for a game with his mates ...

He came back later saying my tip fell off and he cannot find it ! ... i have a league match on Monday .. so hes off back to the club to find it

I've had the same bet as you Ghetto (Judd to win Masters + Worlds). I managed to get 55/1 on mine though, albeit I put considerably less than you on it.

I got taught all the important poker lessons by SuperJez (just in case you wonder who I am!)

Ha cruel man Jos. Most clubs you can get new tips put on by the owner or a reg for a couple of quid. I was always useless at doing my own.

Good stuff Scottie. He looks in good form now. Where and when did you get that on? I could only get 40s and phoned around a few places!

All in with my snooker roll on Higgins here and he's under performing. Dott making so many mistakes though so i still fancy him to get the job done. M'on the Wizard!

From Paddy Power Ghetto, on Sunday afternoon. If I recall, is where yours was placed (?), which made me pleasantly surprised I got those odds.

I did it straight from the website, but I saw the bet limit was around the £550 mark, so I didn't need to call.

Good luck with the match Monday Jos.

I can second that. They always look like chunky door stops and play with a hollow sound when I've put a new tip on!

Its not a club like you get in a big town, city etc ..

Its just a small village club with 2 tables and nobody really plays there ... in fact i have two of the three keys to the place

I play for the village team in the local league .. but apart from the 4 league players .. nobody really plays there ..

My son and his mates have started to get into snooker ... mainly over the winter months as it gives them a reason to get off their Xbox's etc !

Ive told my son and his mates that if they improve over the next couple of years i will enter a kids team into the league and ill play them for them and drive them to the games etc ....im trying to give them a little incentive to play and want to improve.

As for the tip ... he could not find it ... so ill have a look myself tomorrow ..otherwise ill have to put a new one on over the weekend ..

Its not a big deal .. but i find a new tip is a little too spongy to start off with and its takes a few sessions before it feels right ...

PS .. congrats on the winning bet tonight ghetto... pretty good value that bet was .

I dont have good memories of betting on snooker ... before poker, i used to bet for the sake of betting ... and whilst watching a Williams v Doherty match a few years ago ... i put £250 on Williams to win the frame ... he missed a yellow off the spot and handed it to Doherty ..

So, i put another £250 on Doherty to win the next frame .... he missed a yellow off the spot and handed it to Williams .. lol

Ive not put a single bet on snooker since ..

Actually spoke to Doherty on a poker table on the old Tribecca network ... i mentioned the bets to him and told him he owed me £500 and i would not mind he donated it back to me on that poker table.

He laughed ..took a few more quid off me and said his goodbyes.

Haha good story

When I first started winning at the £1 sit n gos playing poker I had a "degen" bet on the snooker after a bad session.

Put my whole roll of ~£200 on Dott to win when he was already 15-7 up vs Ebdon. I can't remember what I stood to win but it must have been something like a tenner!

Pretty funny looking back on it now but I was totally ****ting myself when Ebdon won frame after frame. Couldn't believe what a clown I had been but Dott eventually pulled through and won 17-14 after giving me a minor heart attack.

It was 2006 final, just watched it on youtube, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oeBbKicJiGQ

It's funny to think what might have happened if I'd lost that bet, in reality I'd probably have just deposited again and eventually ran up another poker roll, and my life would be no different than it is today

haha great story deathorglory

Time for me to get in some snooker betting imo. Nothing major stake wise for me but I will be following some tips in this thread for interests sake

Funny stuff Jos/deathorglory

Williams blew it after getting right back in, so Robertson next for the Trumpster. Should be an easier game than Mark J.

Good stories guys! I was always a terrible one for backing massive favourites and getting stung.

Was at work today so never seen much of williams v robbo. How did robertson play?

My treble's looking good now and got another 150 on murphy at 7/4 when he was 1-0 down. In play betting is so exploitable!

Fancy Trump v Robertson in semis but i'm not sure about higgins v murphy if he makes it. Will see how the rest of this match goes before i think about the double.

That final was one of the sickest matches of snooker i've ever seen. Think i actually turned it off which is something i never thought i'd do in the closing frames of a world final! Semi final with Ebdon v Ronnie was hilarious. Ebdon so obv using tactics to slow down ronnie, taking 4mins on one shot etc! Ronnie at one stage turns to a punter in the crowd and asks him the time then next frame sits with a towel over his face. Ebdon was a sick sick man. And not in a good poker way!!

Uploading all my bets for this tourney to give some validity and a piece of mind for anybody that wants to follow tips here in the future. See regs thread for earlier bets.

Nice bets right there.

Master BR £1523.50 (+£1023.50)

Odds haven't been released for Higgins V Murphy yet and tbh i'm not sure about it after a decent performance from Murphy tonight. Hig not playing great.

So just a single in the semis. Went pretty large on Judd now as i fear the price may come in if i wait. Robertson had tip problems today and is replacing it tonight which he says is a big problem for him:

"My tip is gone and it's going to have to come straight off. It's the worst possible thing that can happen. I just tried to get through the match. It was flaring up all over the shop, I was playing shots and I could see bits over-hanging. I'm going to have to take it off tonight and play a new one in.

"Hopefully it can be ok for tomorrow, but usually it takes four or five days to get used to a new tip, and that's just on a practice table. Playing on a TV table with the cloths the way they are, it's going to be very difficult.

All my eggs in the Judd basket!

Pays £500.

Yeah his tip cracked during the 4th i think, it is def an obvious disadvantage. I feel Murphy may just beat Higgins, Murphy potted well tonite, if he can re produce something similar i think he'll beat Higgins.

Yeah mines is with paddy too mate. I couldn't get that exact double up on the site because they said they were related but fair play. Will be mildly irritated at losing 15k value if it comes in. I'm sure i would get over it

Agreed. Higgins played seriously dodgy in every round in the Worlds last year managing to just scrape through then in the final produced some incredible stuff. I certainly won't be betting much on that match if at all. Will prob wait to see what they're playing like on the night and get something on in play. Or i might just go to the pub and let them get on with it!

The pub seems like a wise option to me, then just let the juddernaut bring home the bacon!
