Yes, English takes the clean Newtonian lines and introduces throw and squirt. If you want to become a genuinely proficient player, you need to learn to accommodate those tiny little curves.
Although it's
possible to run a table every once in a while without inflecting the travel of the cue and object balls, reliance on center, with the occasional slight draw and slight follow just isn't going to make the cut against opponents with superior positional skills.
