How often to replace balls? How often to replace balls?

How much of a beating can super aramith balls take before they are no longer 'competition quality'?

I've never really given it much consideration before, but I have to assume that the balls eventually degrade in quality through the beating they take, even if they are washed and cleaned daily.

Any suggestions?

Are you taking about professional level quality or serious amateur quality?

For the latter, I would say many years but of course it mostly depends on hours of usage rather than elapsed time.

I guess somewhere between serious amateur and professional. We do the representative sides but also some decent sized money play.

The balls get good usage on average 3-4 hours a day most of the year.

I had a set of Aramith Pro balls with literally thousands of hours on them and no signs of any degradation of performance. It's not worth worrying about.

couple years, buy a good set of calipers and measure them , the head ball(usually the one ball will get smaller first) the CB cue ball will wear out long before the balls do. And Cue Balls last for a year with 50 hours/week playing 9ball(harder on the balls than one pocket)
