Hero is solids and there is a stripe blocking a corner shot. Hero hits his ball into the stripe, the stripe goes in, and he follows in his ball. Does hero foul?

Totally depends on which sets of rules you're playing by. A lot of bar rules or screwed up rec player rules will say it's a foul. I'm pretty sure it's completely legal by BCA rules.

yup. depends on rules. ball and pocket for bca, so if contact was good, that is a totally legal shot.

I think this is normally a legal shot in most circles where people play by standardized sets of rules.

Some bar rules are just LOL and are tailored to fit the situation

Yeah, I'm teaching all my friends BCA rules for 8 ball. For me, it's the easiest to memorize (and therefore teach), keeps the game flowing, and makes the most sense. I really hate the behind the line rule when it's (almost always) played without the 3 foul rule.
