yes same shot. doubling the rail is when you use the same rail twice in a row.

in the first shot lets move the red ball away from the rail a few inches inward so the cueball can get behind it. then move the cueball over to the long rail above the yellow ball. now shoot to hit the rail first with some right english and then the yellow ball. the cue ball now comes back to the rail for your second rail and then travels down to the corner area and get the short rail then the red ball. this is considered a hanger usually.

blomdahls shot wasnt doubling the rail all he did was play a simple three rail out of the corner. he just drew the cueball into the corner to do it. not hard on todays tables. he drew back to short rail long rail then short and ball.

another way to double the rail some may not know is when a ball is frozen or close to it on a rail. then you hit a lot of the ball with high english and the cueball goes to the rail and comes back off and goes back into the same rail a few inches over. with enough stroke you can triple or more in some cases.
