I'm guessing she just got scared of settling down. That's pretty much been the theme this season. I don't think you missed any specific reason for leaving.

This. We don't know yet, but it has something to do with the constant texting all day and how excited Jimmy was to get to see her and tell her about his day and hear about hers. He's moving into an adult responsible relationship with her and that's freaking her the hell out, so she grabs her going out boots and sneaks out.

So how does this work writing something like that into an episode? Are you given like a basic plot that you write into a script? Or do you come up with the plot and your boss is just like oh hey btw Gretchen leaves at the end of the episode.

One of my favorite shows in years. I don't really watch a lot of sitcom TV shows but this one is just great. Hope they an keep it going for a while.

I get that they're all the worst but I didn't buy Gretchen's non-reaction when Lindsay reveals her turkey baster plot. That's gotta be the most awful thing anyone's done on the show so far, and they just move on to the next topic like it's no big deal.

The late-night sneaking, I'm guessing it's a night job, quite possibly sex-related (stripping, webcam). Student loans are rough.

I don't mind Jimmy smiling as he walks away. Women do like to cry alone, some of them anyway. It seems very transgressive, but it's mostly just him being relieved she's not cheating on him. They're both very self-centered; that's what they signed up for.

The way Edgar delivers his lines really seemed out of place when they were all talking in the living room. Slows everything down. I really think he's the weak link of the show. Can't he still be the weirdo without talking so slowly? Even the doofus doctor seems to fit in better.

Everybody calling Blondie Rando seemed funny to me. "Theater Girl" also funny. A good episode imo.
