The defense training and handjob/blowjob bits should have been funnier. Low energy episode. Sad.

Yeah I was disappointed in this ep; I barely raised a smile. I expect at least a few genuine LOL moments from Cohen usually.

I thought E5 was a great rebound - lots of quick laughs and overall well paced in that nothing dragged on too long or felt too short. Only two episodes left - they're probably saving Palin for the finale and I'm guessing it'll either be amazing or a huge let down. We shall see.

most of the bits not really working imo

guess it's worth it for the ones that are, but...

kind of disappointing

hopefully he's saved up some gold for a big finish

I thought ep 5 was pretty bad. Surprisingly the prison guy one was the best skit. Youtube-star is still awful and the Trump-fan is just too over the top so that the targets can't really screw up.

Without extremely famous people getting embarrassed this show is pretty awful. Episodes 4 and 5 were almost unwatchable.

I assume the finale will redeem itself with Palin and possibly others.

Genuinely surprised at some not liking E5. I'd probably rank it second best on the season, behind E3. But to each his/her own.

E5 is my favorite by far. Love him getting jerked off and the Dj stuff was pure gold.

Isn't that two different eps? E6 was disappointing ... until the prison chef. Wow.

Pretty terrible episode. I fast forwarded the birth segment. I can't believe he would do that for a bit.

I thought that was the second-best bit of the episode, just seeing how far that guy would go with it. The couple bit had its moments just in quips from Sacha.

The birth segment was too much cringe for me to watch.
Weak episode overall.
I expect they've kept a little piece of gold for the last episode of the season.

The interviews where the target won't bite due to the level of ridiculousness are pretty useless, too. The segments only work when the targets say outrageous things themselves not when they're spoon-fed them.

I actually laughed out loud on the food-critic segment, even though, that segment is easiest to fake or steer in the right direction with a proper chef in the kitchen and due to the fact that the accent hides many of the descriptions of the dish.
I still found it funny when he said "like butter" and when he struggled to open up the condom at first and then described the dish with "the juices bursting out".

Yeah - E6 wasn't particularly hilarious and it felt like SBC was just trying to be outrageous.

Great work on the cello though!

'this is straight from the heart'
'well, nearby...'

that line was obvious but really great.

the last few episodes overall haven't been that good. you could probably make 2, maybe 3 phenomenal episodes out of this show. although it would be pretty repetitive given nearly all the really great stuff is erran morrad.

after a couple of episodes, this show really seemed like an event to me - in the sense of 'wow, this is really embarrassing some idiotic public figures and causing them to quit their jobs. can't wait to see who he gets this week! gotta watch the episode immediately before i get spoilered!'

unfortunately that very quickly turned into inconsistent episodes with a bunch of dumb jokes. it's still an amusing show, but there's been no really big moments in weeks. one left, let's see if they air the palin bit (which i imagine will be weak), and apparently something was filmed with OJ.

In defense of E6, one thing it really underscored - although admittedly this was also in display in past episodes, albeit I think to a lesser extent - is how people will "go along" with a situation if they're on camera, no matter how odd or outrageous, whether out of fear of looking stupid or harming their image if they resist, push back, or question what's going on. As a window into that, the show is great.

that isn't news though
he's made that point well clear throughout his entire career

yep

most of these ppl must not have bit on his stuff at all, so he just dove head first into dumb jokes in order to get something halfway usable for the show, otherwise wtf

because obv you'd want to just set them up to hang themselves, as happened in the best segments of the series

could have done more bits with the public too
higher success rate i think

I wonder why the haven't done that, seems like an easy sell to do a similar segment as the mosque bit with all kind of topics.

It's pretty easy to hand-pick a suitable focus group off facebook which they did, pay them a little participation fee and then slowly ease them in and crank up the anger.

Doing something like that with the Billy Bob whats his name character at any liberal arts university in the US would be a no-brainer.

Crushed it this week. I don't know which was better, the women's march or the O.J. segment.
