My only complaint is I'm still not convinced Kate is actually dead. I think I will kill a kitten named Kate if she is somehow still alive.

Really nice episode.

Product placement with the Ford was awful in the first 10 minutes though.

Oh yeah I was going to mention that.... the product placement was pretty ridiculous..... although if they are paying a good chunk to keep White Collar on the air, I guess I can deal with a quick 5 second placement.

I missed a community a few weeks ago and it wasn't up until a week later. Watched it an hour before the new EP aired.

Had an address and it said something along the lines of "You'll thank me"

I swear to god if this is bringing Kate back, I'm going to flip **** and probably spite ban a few people in the beginners forum.

nvm.. just found an interview posted today where Eastin flat out says Kate is dead.

Meh episode with a great ending. A genuine rift between Neil and Burke could be fascinating but very hard to pull off in the format of this show.

If Kate turns out to actually be dead it's because they planned on bringing her back but fan base scorn made them call an audible imo. Maybe I'm wrong but that's the way I see it.

I feel the same way about USA's Burn Notice, a show about a wronged spy searching for the person who crossed him wherein the first couple of seasons were littered with references to the main character's difficult childhood due to his abusive father whom we are told is dead.

Imo on that show the father was intended to be alive, and be the man who crossed the protagonist. Fans online anticipated the possibility as well and protested that the twist would be horrible. The creator went on record saying that is not, and was never, the plan. Suddenly the references to the dad stopped. I think they called an audible there and, if Kate is in fact dead, I think they did the same on White Collar.

The weird thing is that if Kate is really dead and Adler really denoted the plane they kind of wrapped that whole thing up with little fanfare considering the buildup.

I wonder if I could pull off that vest look?

WTF with the Kate hate? I want her to be alive.

Im kinda pissed that is official she died. Oh well.

The finale coulda gone slightly differently imo, but it was alright. The end was very good anyway.

I don't quite get the "WOW WTF" stuff about this episode. I haven't seen the first episode, but I've been watching this entire season. Seemed really good to me.

My wow wtf is about the the crazy ending. I felt the episode was just ok until the end.... I feel like it would have benefited from being a 2 hour episode as the entire episode felt very rushed. That said... the ending was great and really sets up for what could be a pretty awesome season 3... a huge problem between Neil and Peter, trying to find out who was being stealing all that stuff/who left the note and key, Neil trying to balance the life he lived with the life that it's been shown he wants (stability, a woman to come home to)..... and part of me wonders how committed Sara really is to Neal or if she's just trying to get her painting back.

Ending was good, episode was meh. I know you're supposed to suspend disbelief but one thing repeatedly bugs me.

How do Neil's contacts on the street not know by now he's with the FBI?. He works in like a 10 mile radius, and it would be one thing if was using the Nick Halden alias but today the guy callled him Caffrey, so if the guy knows his real name it should be pretty common information.

Rest was also a little too cliche as well with the Midas code etc. This show is usually a little above the basic password = dog's name type stuff, so this just bugged me.

I thought this episode was awesome, especially the developing rift with Burke and the bits with Neal and Adler where Neal is professing to be nothing like him. I think it's been very cool to see Neal gradually turning into a good guy over the course of the show.

I'm guessing that Alex is behind the switcheroo and the note + key.

One little thing I really liked from this episode is that after Neal was kidnapped and the dry dock scene, his shirt is extremely wrinkled and Peter's shirt is stained. Attention to detail like that is one of the things that makes this show so great.

One thing I'm not clear on. Adler seemed surprised to find out in his warehouse that Alex is the granddaughter of Wagner. Why did he kidnap her then? The only explanation I can think of is to use her as leverage to make Neal do what he wants.

Re the above with cliches: I think that stuff was totally fine. If you're in a hurry to booby trap something you're going to make the password something that's easy to remember and pass along to someone else.

It doesnt really make sense for it to be Alex. Its just not her MO to steal billions in art, jewelry etc, cover her tracks swapping out Neal's paintings and then give Neal all the art.

That said im struggling to find better possibilities

Yeah I mean she's the only one with the skill and motive that I can see though.

Mozzie I guess could pull it off, but his ambitions just aren't that high and he wouldn't know where the warehouse was.

Alex knew the location of or could at least find the warehouse. She's got the skills, and her giving away the treasure makes some sense since it was the quest that she was interested in, not necessarily its reward.

Maybe. However i think the "who done it" aspect will be the main story of the next season and if it turns out it was Alex, it kinda sucks, plus i think the "i was only in it for the quest and dont care about the billions of dollars" doesnt fit her at all from what we've seen.

I think there is something and/or someone key in play we havent really seen yet.

Yea, I agree with Phil I think. Imo the only person we've met before who it could really be is Kate. However in light of the news that she seems to be really dead I'd guess it's an unknown.

I dont think its impossible to be Neal's dad. I dont think it was a coincidence he said his dad used to be a cop in a recent ep and Peter gave him a glance of "really, never knew that". Quite how it will lay out i dunno, but him lying about his dad being a cop, or him just not knowing his dad wasnt a cop or whatever makes a lot of sense given Peter would have certainly looked into Neal's past indicating there is a lot of mystery to Neal's backstory.

Its also possible Neal Caffrey isnt even his real name which would be an epic twist to learn and would also back up the fact that Peter doesnt know his backstory - kinda like no one but Neal knows Mossies real name and backstory.

Neil's dad seems plausible. I found it odd at the time that it was brought up... kind of out of thin air.. and hasn't been mentioned since.

My gf and I have been having random chats trying to figure out what is going to happen.. and we can't figure out anything that seems most likely.. nor can we really rule anything out, although we both agree that Mozzie doesn't seem likely. Sara could be an interesting twist, but I feel like that could kill the story pretty quickly.

Any thoughts on how next season is going to start? My initial thought is that the season will start with Neil in the room and Peter walks in to bust him.... but the more I think about it, the less likely I think that will be the case.

Oh and... this show is just ****ing amazing.

edit.. according to Jeff Eastin's twitter... show will be back in June.
