If Peter is the bad guy then there's a good chance his wife is bad also, which I don't think they would do.

Peter's wife has a tatoo on her back. She might be bad.

Like i said earlier in the thread its unlikely they will have Peter turn out to be a bad guy, the show has been designed for more than one season and its unlikely they will go that way as season 2 would be night and day to 1. However there are lots of shades of grey like Peter and Kate working together as a sting on Fowler but they are lying to Neal, or maybe Mozzie is the bad guy all along.

Also there is no reason to think Peter's wife is bad if Peter is. He could have lied to her about where he was going and had told her about a meeting with Kate (maybe not even the same meeting?).

Like i say this show feels too deep to it be such a simple story. Or maybe i just hope it is because ive really enjoyed the show so far though i was a bit on the fence at first. They have built it well so far and i just find it unlikely half way through the season they have revealed everything and the rest of the show's B story is bringing down Fowler whilst dealing with case of the week as the A story. I mean they built up the "man with the ring" for 8 episodes, then in the 9th its all revealed but the season has another 5 episodes to go, that doesnt make sense to me which is why i assume there is more to be shown.

We have one story told by one person on what happened that night. To assume that is what happened and that we wont be told at least one more story about that meeting would be a mistake, this show doesnt feel nearly as straight forward as that.

There is a lot more going on here or im grossly overestimating the cleverness of the show.
Im pretty sure you are correct about this. When I was watching and Peter's explanation came up, I was like there is no way this is what happened. I'm not exactly sure where it is all going either but I don't think your overestimating the cleverness.

imo, peter's version of his story sounds fabricated. Lol, like he really cares that kate is playing w/ his "friend's" heart. Also, it sounded like he made up a reason about why he was wearing the FBI ring in his narration to Neal.

It seems like Peter wearing the ring in that scene was just to mess with the viewer before the mid season break.

Even if he is the guy behind it all, why wear the ring when he's with Kate and no other time? Why wear it at all?

What I didn't get was that Neal has no clue where Kate is or how to reach her, but Peter just "put the word out" that he wanted to meet and there she was...??

Also, if she's being "held" by Fowler, how does she get out so much to drop clues to Neal or chat Peter up? I mean if she could get close enough to Neal to catch him on the payphone without Fowler knowing, why can't she just meet him at some crowded bar somewhere and talk to him directly??

I'm pretty sure he wore the ring to let her know that it is just some superstandard FBI thing like he said to Neal. When she walked in he said something like "You recognize this, right?"

it's a scam, imo. Peter is probably the super villain, he wants that box.

Why the hell did Kate pull a gun on Peter?

And if she has access to a gun and some amount of freedom why is she 'being held' at all???

Tonight's show was FUN.

No plot developments, just a really fun little episode. Nice to see TAT showing a glimpse of her inner Valerie Malone.

Mazzie was excellent doing Bruce Willis. Just a fun show.

Nice little standalone and the line about Neal only trusting Peter was a nice addition. Was also nice to see Peter do more of the heavy lifting in the episode too.

in an interview published in the January 2010 issue of Details, when asked about media reports regarding his sexuality, Bomer stated, "I don't care about that at all. I'm completely happy and fulfilled in my personal life."[3] He declined to elaborate further, stating, "I have a network and a show riding on my shoulders", in reference to his starring role on USA's White Collar.

I assume that answers the question you are afraid to ask? Lol.
