I agree with this. In my opinion, the ultimate "moral of the story" will be questioning whether a computer consciousness can actually be real and if yes, it will call into question our own consciousness and free will.
We have all three options. MiB is a real person. Ford is "real" consciousness that exists digitally. And the hosts are entirely digital man made creations. All three are doing battle in the real world. Is Ford's existence more or less real than MiB's? Do the hosts have the same amount of agency as the MiB despite being nothing more than computer code? If yes, then do real people have any more freedom of choice than a computer AI does?
