'Westworld' remake - possible new HBO series - Page 65

Nothing is more tedious than people who post about how other people just don't have the insight and intellect to appreciate something that they like. Particularly when all the stuff they cite as interesting is basically soap opera **** in a show that is supposed to be about ideas.

Note: I like Westworld, and while the episode was substandard I didn't hate it. It's worrying in terms of direction though.

not only that but the post was downright wrong. people are interested in the game between ford and the MIB, but the MIB literally wasnt in the episode!

This ep was fine, Delores/Wyatt is now showing that she’ll be more of a dictator than a savior and Maeve has surpassed her as the most powerful host. Finally caught up but I'm confused as all hell. Can someone try to summarize what timelines seem to be in play in the various stories. It seems to be happening all in the end timeline but I'm sure that's not the case.

I really enjoyed this episode (probably as much as Ep 4)...

The whole "Dolores conducting the fidelity test on Bernard/Arnold" - I took this as the human version of Dolores (whoever she was based on) was/is working with Ford/Arnold early on (even though we don't see her in Season 1).

Puzzle piece of Arnold falling in love with her and creating the Dolores-bot in her image makes sense to me.

It could be a stretch, but I think we'll eventually meet the Real Dolores. Seems strange to me if it was actually just the Host Dolores conducting a test on another host. Doesn't seem to fit.

Would seem strange to me also, particularly given Ford has been the one obsessed with bringing Arnold back. See spoiler in previous post for another idea.

I liked your theory as well. We're in a spot now where we don't really know who is the puppet master and who are the hosts.

Puppet Master could be Ford / Arnold / "Real" Dolores / Ford's consciousness implanted into a host body...

Whoever it is, I do think there's only 1 person running the show and playing the game with William/MiB and everyone else is going to end up just being a host...

I agree with this. In my opinion, the ultimate "moral of the story" will be questioning whether a computer consciousness can actually be real and if yes, it will call into question our own consciousness and free will.

We have all three options. MiB is a real person. Ford is "real" consciousness that exists digitally. And the hosts are entirely digital man made creations. All three are doing battle in the real world. Is Ford's existence more or less real than MiB's? Do the hosts have the same amount of agency as the MiB despite being nothing more than computer code? If yes, then do real people have any more freedom of choice than a computer AI does?

In this Ep Dolores and Ford (virtually) are sitting at the same piano playing the same song, which is another reason to question whether Dolores really has free will or if she's just following a narrative of Ford's.
