special appearances by bill clinton and michelle obama????? bill clinton repealed the banking laws that protected us from the 2008 economic disaster. the whole world suffered for his personal profit.

i mean i could write pages and pages of how clinton and obama screwed us all over and over. if you think they represent any kind of democracy or justice or virtue you are so delusional.

the policies and institutions they represent are why california is on fire right now, bombs dropping in the middle east, so many of us are struggling while billionaires float on yachts, millions in prison, even why we have a president like trump.

sorkin, obama, trump, clinton, bezos, musk, biden... villains all.

As far as I can tell they brought back the entire cast from the original episode, excepting John Spencer. Seeing even the bit players (Ed & Larry, the press at the airfield, CJ's assistant Carol) really emphasized how special this show was, that they'd come back to reprise their roles just for the one line that they had in the episode.

Nah he just plays 3D chess making military threats against China (who is evil, of course - good message to continue to spread in the time of covid prejudice!).

Love workplace harassment, pranks, ageism, and sexism.

Love abusive misogynistic bosses like Cool Guy Josh Lyman.

Love when liberals say privatizing Social Security is "on the table".

(The staging and acting are actually really well done, it's remarkable how well they slipped back into the roles. Lin Manuel Miranda's bit I thought was funny.)

Politically I don't know if this can even pass for "liberal" anymore, and that's a huge compliment to modern liberals.

lol! thanks baltimore jones...

yeah the politics of the show are absurd, but a lot of the delivery is really well done, slick, funny dialogue, excellent acting, compelling characters.

lol nailed it.

but I am sure this post is gonna piss off shitlibs everywhere.

I just finished this last page. filthy obv crushes it. one of the main differences between true Progressives and the liberals is that liberals like Sorkin believe in the institutions of this country. those institutions and those values are complete bullshit.

the Bernie supporters and the PRogressives and the leftists want to tear all that garbage down bc its rotten to the core. thats the only way to progress. for the shitlibs like Sorkin they dont care if those institutions are used to do evil. it doesnt hurt him and gives him something to portray as pure. its truly awful propaganda.

hopefully most 5th graders know owning slaves is bad, and genocide is bad. and that we shouldn't honor people who did those things

Clovis my worldview is basically shaped by Michael Parenti. Sure, he explains it better than me. But I am not just making this stuff up. I actually read about it.

You are the one who is closed minded and tosses away and attacks anything that doesnt reinforce your viewpoint.

The funny thing is that before I actually opened up books I believed in the same DemE neoliberal BS. It was so clearly better than the Republicans and it was also the only option. It was very comforting to know that I was on the side of righteousness. Boy did I feel stupid after I started cracking open some actual politics, sociology, policy, history etc.

It wasnt easy to read that stuff and get my worldview destroyed. Nor is it easy to waltz over to unstuck and get relentlessly attacked by the you and the rest. Likewise insulted here.

But what really gets me is the arrogance. I am the one who has done the research and read the books. You are the one has made up your mind yet acts superior.

The new hard-lefty ****-that-racist-George-Washington types need their own Sorkin to arise organically. Make these BLM-Antifa riots funny and charming somehow.

It's a show that's "well made", entertaining, and fun in small doses. Also infuriating depending on your tolerance for overly "witty" dialogue, misogyny, and terrible politics. But it's kinda fun to get mad at, because of the smug self-righteousness of the characters and viewers like the people ITT, who imagine themselves to be good people with good politics, but are actually actively hostile to social progress and are happy to accomplish nothing as long as they spew a few witty facts along the way.

They made a series that perfectly encapsulates the failed right turn of neoliberal Democrats like Carter, Clinton, and Obama, but none of them know it.

exactly!

kinda like watching a show with all these smug, supposedly brilliant characters, mocking the danger of icebergs while they are sailing on the titanic
