Why did they jump down that hole to fight the walkers at close range with knives and hand to hand combat when all they had to do was shoot them from the top?

God this show is ridiculous. I spent the entire hour yelling at my tv.

Who were the people raping and beating the terminus survivors at the end of ep 1? Was it the captives they were eating?

or bob could have just been seperating himself from the wine. remember from his brilliant character development in that one episode that one time, he's an alcoholic.
the leg bite is what i was thinking and better explains the crying.

i think it also explains that he may have been drinking.

i too thought he got bit and was going outside to off himself. i guess that could still be the case and the amputation actually saves him.... but i kinda doubt it.

was it just me or was bob stumbling a bit, slightly off-balance when he went outside? i assumed he had been drinking. he was also treating sasha as if he knew he didn't have much time left with her in an episode that teased optimistic "new normal life where we live like this forever maybe" or "this is the first day of the rest of our lives".

bob even goes from super-optimist to pensive very fast.

relax a little

- it is possible he went out for the reason you stated
- it is just as possible that he got bit
- not everyone is watching for the gore

PS. - no such thing as used to be an alcoholic

+1

I thought his conversation with Rick earlier in the episode was ******ed. It seemed like they were just trying to stick him in there somewhere because he's so worthless.

The group all went to the same town/village split up and 1/2 found the silencers so why not use those to shoot the walkers in the hole as that would have actually made sense as to not alert more walkers from shooting instead they fight them in thick dirty water with knives some sense plsss

It was good and I actually think the second half of s4 was a pretty good improvement over mid s2 to mid s4. If they can keep this moving s5 might be a decent season...

But this sounds pretty accurate.

I doubt he was bitten because...

1) There were given no hints about it. It seems weird the viewer is supposed to assume something that will be of such importance just based on him crying.
2) Wouldn't Bob have turned earlier? It seems like a lot of time passed after he supposedly got bitten. They got back from getting the food, day turned night, they had food and drinks, he went out to cry, got beat down, had his leg served as a meal and he still seems to show no symptoms of a bite.
3) It's not like the Terminus crew is about to get wiped out by an infected Bob, pretty sure they'll be around at least for all of s5.

I just insta-assumed it was because of the alcohol, but then again I have s4 fresh in my mind.

Either a leg or an arm in a sneaker.

just noticed whitegoose posting, so chiming in here to let any new posters know not to feed the WG troll. tbh i'm not 100% convinced they're trolling, but having compared TWD to breaking bad in last season's thread makes it hard for me to think otherwise

Yeah this really pissed me off too. I mean seriously what was the ****ing point? If you want to save bullets spear the ****ers. And if you want to open up the 'he got bit but is hiding it storyline' just have a zombie appear from nowhere up top. (Although I think the alchy arc seems to be where they were going with the sob scene).

If I had to guess why they didn't shoot the walkers its because they don't want to create all the noise and attract any other nearby walkers. Or because shooting them would just take all the drama out of being there

I know there are rules about how much time per hour you are allowed advertising but I get the distinct impression with TWD that they milk it for all its worth and crowbar as much as they can in regardless of creative integrity and that things are cut from the 'directors cut as it were' to make the almighty buck which is why our heroes seem to do so many ******ed things. I mean just have a loose piece of flooring which makes them fall in for gods sake.

Mind you after 4 hugely successful seasons you would think they would have the maximum amount of ad time incorporated with out too much risk now. Probably the simplest explanation is the most likely and that the writers are just this bad.

yo everyone who was on the Wire is an amazing actor. everyone associated with the wire is amazing. the guy who drove Idris Elba to set in his towncar would probably win the Indianapolis 500 if he felt inclined. the craft service intern just won Top Chef last season.

Weird theory considering the quality of BB and Mad Men on the very same network, but you got there in your last sentence.

didn't it seem like they were talking to Bob as if they knew him well? Maybe he was with their crew before? Or maybe he was with the rapy crew they took over???

Because of the line, "I just hope you understand that nothing happening to you now is personal. Yeah, you put us in this situation and it is almost a cosmic justice for it to be you."?

I think that line was that they would eat any random person or any random group and the justice is that it's someone from the group that destroyed their camp. Not that of all the people in the group that destroyed their camp, there is something special about Bob.

also why then would bob go to terminus? or are you saying he knew those dudes before they went to terminus?
