Just binge watched S5 on Netflix. Best season of Walking Dead thus far.
5>1>>>4>>>>>>>>>3>>2
I think most of you are getting too nostalgic over S1. Ep1 was fantastic, the CDC was fantastic, the 45 sec Lori+Shane watching Atlanta get droned intro flashback was fantastic. The bulk of the season was daleface, Andrea Andrea Andrea irrationality, tier 17 melodrama, and other assorted aids.
Why was S5 the best? For one reason - progression. The plot has progressed more in S5 than it has in S2-4 combined. Also, lots of boring characters are dead. Hopefully we can kill off more rapido in the S6.
Minor other reasons S5 was good television:
1) Carol is the hero we need, but we don't deserve
2) NIN classic "Somewhat Damaged" gets prominent airplay in the second to last episode for no reason. I got off on this as a NIN diehard. I was surprised this wasn't commented on at all on 2+2
3) Sexy redhead maid from American Horror Story figures to be a prime character in S6
4) LOLreligion priest is the most degenerative loser unlikable character ever
5) The trio of Abe, sexyrita, mullet makes a great transition from the comics to the show
6) Maybe I'm crazy, but the woods look more like Northern VA than GA now
