I think they actually do a pretty good job at showcasing the fact that people in extremely stressful situations do some ****ing dumb ass ****, actually. Have you ever been in, like, an emergency? It's really easy to sit back and say how you would do things differently, but the reality is you react quite differently in different situations where adrenaline causes some pretty idiotic responses.

2.) Daryl is riding a motorcycle. Painted on the side of the tank of the 'cycle is the SS or Runic "ᛋᛋ" symbol (Schutzstaffel). This symbol is a very common Nazi/skinhead symbol. Latter on, Daryl saves the life of T-dog.
Daryl is brother to Merle who was a known racist in one episode in the first season. It's not a huge stretch to think that the bike was Merle's or that Daryl had some preconceived notions passed down by his brother/family that he is now eschewing or altering given the new predicament they're in?
Just taking this opportunity since it's been brought up a lot, but in the situation on the highway... what should they have done? I mean, running is probably much better than hiding under the cars and I get that, but... panicking and stuff and you may not react the best way possible. That's human.
I'm pretty sure the comics are supposed to be awesome and bad ass but also represent how quickly "humanity" can slide into doing some pretty ******ed and/or disgusting/"inhumane" things in the name of perseverance.
Also, we've seen before that different zombies do have different capabilities, like the ones at the department store being smart enough to use tools to try and break down the glass or the ones who were able to climb fences. Perhaps it's just "wildfire" reacting differently in different people based on their different genetic make-up.
