I don't know how much Scorsese involvement in this but these days a lot of the Scorsese stuff just has a very weird feel to it. I am talking Wolf, The Departed, etc.

The violence/drug use in a Good Fellas, Raging Bull, Casino, Taxi Driver is just much different than the violence/drug use in these films. This is like comic book violence and then they have the comic relief characters constantly popping up.

i think i heard him say in an interview that they wont even let you make these kinds of films anymore.
