I love the band segments in each episode. It's kinda like the featured act on SNL or Letterman/ etc.

One of the guys in Ep 5 is David Lynch's son, Riley.

That was, apparently, Richard Horne (according to credits). We don't know if he's related to the Hornes yet, but I assume he must be.

Felt like a bit of a filler episode, some great moments though. Seyfried tripping on coke was perfect, classic Lynch.

I assume Shelly's son is also Bobby Briggs' son, or at least that was my takeaway based on how rude Mike was to him in the job interview?

Hmm. Audrey is dead, right? Or at least she died off-screen. Would be cool if that was her kid.

I loved the shot of Las Vegas in ep 5.

So many off-strip places there are very Lynchian.

Forgot to post this, but these were my exact thoughts.

Audrey is alive - this is from Mark Frost's Twin Peaks book. Pete shielded her and saved her life.

I like the theory that young Horne is the love child of Audrey and Evil Cooper. Good Coop was too moral to hook up with a high school girl, but this Bob Cooper character? Seems like that guy wouldn't care as much. I suspect a Bob offspring running around will be problematic for the good folks of Twin Peaks.

- Didn't care for Cera but idk; it wasn't really meant to be good.

- Who would have thought in a million years that Cooper would come out of the Lodge with severe PTSD in a Las Vegas casino?

yea, don't know what the normal spoiler policy is but I assume once it's aired on the east coast, that's it. So if you're watching DVR or on demand or west, you know you have to avoid the threads (and all social media).
bro i ****ing laughed my ass off when michael cera showed up on a motorcycle and he's named wally brando and he's doing a marlon brando impression in a leather jacket that says wally on it c'mon that was my favorite part of the show so far. that and david duchovny.. i could not stop laughing that entire scene

i also very much like that there's a fully evil version of cooper (murderer with kilo of cocaine and dog leg in car), a fully good version of cooper (by-the-books fbi special agent that we know and love from seasons 1 and 2), and a medium cooper who isn't a good guy because he was banging hookers in abandoned houses instead of going to his kid's birthday but he's not a murderer or anything, and our cooper takes on the life of medium cooper. and medium cooper's wife is hilarious because she's so normal compared to all the crazy **** cooper has been through for 25 years (the evolution of the arm repeatedly screaming non-existence still haunts me)

Dougie/Coop needs to wake up already.

Loved Jacoby selling golden shovels and having a conspiracy webcast.

Shelley's daughter is bound for a world of hurt...

And yes, the punk in the bar is a Horne...Audrey's son??

All this.

I think dougie coop is waking up, just very slowly. He gets triggered by certain words- most poignantly "coffee" and "agent". Once more synapses start firing he'll wake up. Could take half the season

And just what the hell was that pager thing the scared woman and Bad Coop called in Argentina? The thing that suddenly imploded?

A friend of mine who hasn't seen the original series told me today he'd watched the new eps. He was like "what's wrong with that Dougie guy, why is he acting so weird?" He then asked me to explain the original series in its entirety which was quite challenging.

Something to do with gold I think, and it also looked like the same thing that Dougie (not Dougie/coop) disintegrated into in the "Waiting Room". There also seems to be some sort of golden statue in the waiting room of an angel/winged bird or something similar.

I think it might also tie into the Dr. guy in the woods (he was drinking Huckleberries which are a black berry, the phone was a blackberry and turned into gold, the Dr. has 5 gold shovels, etc...) Then again the scene with his radio show was about trying to "shovel his way out of ****" with his gold shovels, which could mean not to try to dig too deeply into the show/life in general.

A few episodes ago, I really liked the scene when Lynch is watching the murder video of the guy/girl by the thing in the box and he's like "WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!". I laughed pretty hard.

I took that as confirmation that Bob created Dougie to intercept the real Cooper if/when he ever got out.

Also given the box in NYC seemed to be connected to the Black Lodge, and the voice on the phone in the motel room (Mike?) wanting Bob back in that Bob thought was Jeffries said "missed you in NYC", and the killer creature appeared minutes after Cooper passed through, I'm guessing the box and creature were meant for Bob.

I'm getting really ****ing frustrated. The Dougie **** is pointless. The kid getting run over by the car serves no narrative purpose...

Kid getting run over by car was the whole "duality of life" that the old man witnessed first hand. He saw the pure beauty of nature while sitting on the park bench and then in an instant he witnessed the direct opposite. Instead of standing there in complete horror like the other people, he went over to console the woman. For the narrative of the story, the guy in the car made eye contact with the school teacher from the diner as he drove away, so that could be something that builds in future episodes.

I think episode 7 is when we see the return of real Cooper. "Lucky 7" is the name of Dougie's insurance company.

Who's next target is Dougie

The short black lodge one-armed man sequence was close to home as I have a family member in a coma in ICU right now. "You have to wake up. Don't die..." Shivers

Holy **** what a great episode. I thought it was the strongest one yet.

This series clearly ties Lynch's entire filmography together, there are remnants of pretty much every movie he's made (the only exception I can think of is, thankfully, Dune) all over the series. I love the slow pace and hurryless direction in many scenes. The man has a story tell and there's no rush.
