RULE: leave episodes 3&4 in spoiler tags until they air, even though they're streaming now

It's not that popular in here.

It's also not the type of show to produce idiotic knee-jerk OMGWTFBBQ reactions.

Marathoned all 4 before anyone could spoil an over two decade wait, Lynch def had creative control. I think the next airing is June 6th? I wonder if that means they'll release one more or another set of eps

Wow so much you could say, but for now I just have to get out that for me part 3 was a breathtaking culmination of what has already been an incredible experience.

I mean it has all been something great and the wildest dream come true for true fans of Lynch I'm sure (18 hours!!!!!) but I was definitely still kinda settling instinctively throughout a good part of the first and second parts (with many highlights and if you see it as one long movie it's one amazing pathway into it!), but part 3 just had me breathless through out, even with my only tiny doubt so far being the seeing of, in great detail a number of things that could, and maybe in Lynch-past has most of time, simply occurred rather than being quite directly told and shown... but it's very fascinating, inspired and I'm loving it.

I really really would like to save part 4 for a few days but of course it's going to be impossible.

so there's 2 hours that aired last night, and there's another 2 hours somewhere? on demand or streaming or what?

Answers should be somewhere here in this how to watch guide: https://www.reddit.com/r/twinpeaks/c...ks_the_return/

but the extra 3 and 4 are out there for streaming I think.

From wiki:

Quote:
Twin Peaks premiered on Showtime on May 21, 2017, with a two-hour episode. After the airing, the premiere and an additional two episodes became available online, and the series will be shown in weekly increments from that point onwards (at Lynch's insistence). Overall, the series will consist of 18 episodes.[1] It will conclude on September 3, 2017, with a two-part final
I'm also seeing a few people here and there talking about the show looking better through the app than the tv airing but dunno if it's true.

Funny enough around these parts (Scandinavia) it's HBO Nordic who usually end up airing prestige tv from the likes of Starz and Showtime.

The Twin Peaks episodes they have out once they've aired on tv the U.S

I chromecast from their app and thought it looked very good even if it's too sunny right now (I felt like headphones helped the experience though!) and I really should have waited until tonight.

SPOILER TAGS IF YOU DISCUSS 3-4 PLEASE!!

It didn't look great on Sling, but whatever, good enough. Some day I'll rewatch all of it including TOS (The Original Series) on Blu on a huge TV.

(Parts 1-2): Did anyone else feel sympathy for Bob? Seems like he's fighting enemies worse than he is.

It was a little strange at first to see Bob/evil Coop as this kinda human blue collar criminal, as I'd always imagined he'd just be a demon controlling whatever he wants. But I guess this makes sense and likely turns out much much better from a narrative standpoint.

As I suspected, the additions of all of the big name actors has done nothing at all to hurt the series (had a friend convinced that was a hint it was going to be bad). It's simply a big story with many characters, and they happened to get some famous people for a lot of the roles. Loved Matthew Lillard.

The sketch on the playing card looks suspiciously like one of Lynch's Rabbits that I'm always raving about. There'd been speculation that this could be Lynch's Dark Tower, tying all/many of his past works together.

The only thing I have to complain about is that I could do with less Andy and Lucy and more Ben and Jerry. Love that Jerry is now selling legal weed.

Watched all of them. Have serious withdrawal symptoms already. If anyone gets their hands on what the streaming schedule for the rest will be (just one ep per week starting when?) I'd like to see it.

So awesome. I have some minor complaints about a couple of sequences that I felt were too long (one of them in spoilers below, which I think was in e3, although I watched them all without a break so not sure), but still I have feel like a nit complaining because man, how amazing was that?

My biggest complaint (prob e3):

Spoiler:
The whole sequence where good Coop made his way out of the black lodge, especially the whole space thing, purple ocean, etc. I think we could've done without all those extra detours

Comparing to Lynch's other work, so far I'd say this is closest to:

Spoiler:
Inland Empire > Mulholland Drive > Lost Highway = Twin Peaks 90s version

Wish I had more coherent things to say but I'm still very much digesting it all. Nice little homage to David Bowie there in e2 too (the final goodbye thing, or maybe it was a coincidence but at least my brain snapped to think about his death straight away as it would've been filmed at around the same time).

Also, e4, a character I love:

Spoiler:
Gordon Cole. Lynch is actually a hilarious actor as well, I hope we see lots more of him on the other side of the camera as well.

e4, I didn't love (or possibly even get):

Spoiler:
The Michael Cera/Wally scene. That whole scene was weird and I don't mean good weird, imo. And it dragged on foreeeeeever.

Responding to the above...I kind of agree...

Spoiler:
I didn't like the Wally Brando scene, either. And I think we could've done without all of the Good Coop winning at the slots and not knowing who he is.
