I stopped watching TP in S1 after the Laura Palmer mystery got solved and never watched the movie and also don't remember the plot or any of the characters other than Kyle M's very well. Would I still be able to appreciate the new run of eps?

I liked it just had heard that it fell way off after the mystery was solved so stopped binge watching the dvd there and never got back around to it.

Twin peaks is probably my favorite show of all time but season 2 definitely got lame after they reveal Laura Palmer’s killer

I’d say watch the last episode of s2 and the movie before The Return

I guess you don’t really need to watch the movie but it adds depth to the Phillip Jeffries tea kettle thing when you know it’s david bowie. And it’s a fun movie; Laura gets topless iirc.

And the last 2 episodes of The Return heavily reference stuff from the movie but honestly if you just go along with it The Return is fantastic on its own and the other stuff is extra.

I was frustrated with dougie on the first watch through but on the rewatch I moved to laughing heartily at all the Weekend at Bernie's antics because I know how it all works out

The entire first time I watched The Return I was in a stunned silence, so i didn't really enjoy or laugh at the funny parts but on rewatch it has a TON of laughs

And Screamin, wtf? FWWM is a lot more than Laurie's boobies. It's a devastating, heartbreaking movie.
