Aziz Ansari's new show on Netflix looks to be another hit. This show is a massive departure from any show in which Aziz has starred. He plays a less successful actor going through life. The show is very introspective and very well written/directed. I'm constantly laughing throughout the episode, but I also find the show to be very culturally and intellectually provoking. You can tell that these episodes come from his heart and his experiences growing up as a first generation very Americanized Indian-American.

Three episodes in and this is likely to be in my top 10 shows of the year, maybe at the top.

I think episode 2 got a little clunky in the execution. It's a great idea though.

I'm reading people comparing this to Louie. I think it's good but not nearly Louie good. I'm 7 in now too.

seen first 7 eps

I felt pilot was okay, second ep was not that good, but everything from ep 3 and after has been very good

good job on handling social issues in a non-lecturing or boring way

I'm enjoying it and am a big Aziz fan. one thing that bothers me about these shows created by comedians is that most of the time they use the same jokes that are in their stand up routines. would enjoy the show much more if I hadn't seen his stand up.

It's really solid. Way better than expected from aziz

2 eps in, writing is so tight. The montages start to the second ep was especially solid.

really enjoying this.
Netflix is really killing it lately and bill burr's animated show F is for family is dropping on Dec 18th n I have extremely high hopes for that.

Netflix has to be the GOAT value for entertainment.

I'm torn, big fan of NF originals, but swore I'd never watch anything with aziz again after growing to hate Tommy as the last couple seasons of P&R dragged on. Nut low character.

No, I hear you, and Izzy has been ok, good even on everything I've seen him on since The Wire. But there was a lot more Tommy than Izzy, and I ****ing hate Tommy.

word well his character on master of none is much diff than tommy so I'd give it a chance.
obv ppl that are just annoyed by aziz in general won't like it, but I'm not a huge fan of his and I'm enjoying it quite a bit so def think you might like it.

Apparently you forgot about Craig, easily the worst.

Show is good, aziz kinda sucks at acting but it doesn't really bother me.

I'll admit he annoys the hell outta me, the way he never varies the rhythm of this speech. Like a chirpy machine gun. I've finished it btw, I'd give it a 7.5 out of 10. The intended audience is probably a lot younger than I am.

Aziz isn't much of an actor. He is just a guy doing basically one thing over and over.

Half the show feels like a rewrite/acting out of his stand up (he definitely has a routine that episode two is a direct play on).

But this doesn't bother me at all. Ymmv.
