Why wouldn’t a father bathe his own child?

Not sure if this has been mentioned, and it might seem a bit tenuous, but the mythology is still interesting to read into.

Robert W. Chambers was an influence on another horror writer, H.P. Lovecraft. His best know works are known as the the Cthulhu Mythos (lots of stuff involving ancients Gods and mythological entities).

If you want something looking like a spaghetti monster, Lovecraft's Cthulhu seems pretty close.

they also look like they're wearing masks that could be similar to the spaghetti head guy the girl described to the sherriff

I think some random girls complaint when they talked to serriif in eps 1, but maybe they were talking about the Founteno girl?

Yes, they had gone to ask the sheriff about the Fontenot girl and then WH asked him about another report they had heard about, and sheriff gives them report about girl being chased through the woods by "green eared spaghetti monster." The report on the Fontenot girl is first time we heard "possible report made in error."

just rewatched episode 1 and found two things interesting, but its probably nothing

when they were talking with the sheriff about the fontenot case there were two large deer heads on the hall, one of which directly over the sheriff's seat making the childress connection pretty likely - also where they heard about the green eared spaghettie monster

when rust went to marty's for dinner the meal was spaghetti with broccoli - green vegetable and spaghetti and they showed audrey with spaghetti hanging out of her mouth, much like the sketch of the spaghetti monster

I share his view that time is an illusion and that looking at our existence from a higher dimension would show everything that will happen has happened. I hadn't heard of the cyclical part before and haven't read anything about it so I don't really subscribe to that idea.

just caught up on this show this week.. i feel like it started strong but i've lost some interest as it went on. the weird police/ theft scene at the end of episode 4 was not too well done..

there have been other scenes that felt too copy catty to me like the dancing at the bar with his mistress there. we haven't seen that concept 1000 ****ing times. come on.

i like how its skipping around time periods but do we know yet what's happened between the two detectives? in the flash forwards they're against each other right?

i'll stick with the show and hope for more of the wife's tits but at this point i'll give it a weak 7/10.

and if the little emo daughter converts to satanism it will be a snap minus 2 points

Could you name five other movies/tv shows where they have shown the protagonist's mistress run into the protagonist while he's out with his wife? Having trouble coming up with two, let alone a thousand.

grunch-ish: DAE think, after watching e5, that the title of the show refers to Cohle going underground for 10+ years just to close this case/ bring the perpetrators to justice?
