Part of that is that I think Cohle was much more interesting with his past just implied rather than overtly thrown in your face.

it's like people don't understand how good television works. the build-up- all the character development and slow pacing- works bc it is leading to something big, eventually **** was going to go down and this was ****ing awesome. if the build-up was leading to nothing we'd just be watching prometheus.

It's 8 ****ing episodes. There is no filler. This moved things along fine - more backstory on MM, the demise of WH's family unit, following bread crumbs to LeDeux...Great ep

Projects scene was surreal. So much so that I'm actually wondering if it really happened like that at all, or if we're dealing with an unreliable narrator.

It reminded me of the end of American Psycho.

Thought this episode was outstanding. MM transforming back into junkie, and his scenes in the biker bar A+, not to mention a real cool ghetto shootout. Only weak spot for me was the emo WH stuff.

Anyone know the band who's music played over the credits or how to find out?

The opening theme and the accompanying visuals are perfect and really set the mood to watch the show. It's one of the only shows that I don't fast forward through the credits.

Great episode, we get our first taste of action but it's not too over-the-top ridiculous. I realized how disgusting strippers are also so a life lesson in there too.
