Re: Top Chef - Season 13

House,

There was an elimination at the end, between the two quickfire losers.

Re: Top Chef - Season 13

That wasn't an "Elimination Challenge". After the Quickfire Elimination, Padma says something along the lines of "now you're immediately going to have your first Elimination Challenge" and they went into the "this season on Top Chef video montage" and then credits.

I saw the elimination between the two people but not the actual elimination. Something must've gone awry with my feed because it ended early.

The old chefs vs. new chefs gimmick is really good imo. It's nice not having to try to memorize 20 different names out of the gate.

Agreed with the Casey/Brooke comments. The Italian girl floats my boat too. The accent and broken engrish is molto sexy. And Shirley ain't bad either, although she always looks like she's been up all night.

Disappointed the new chefs didn't throw any "I don't recognize any of those people" shade at the old chefs.

Agreed, I'm loving the new season. Brooke, Casey, Sheldon, Shirley are all awesome and there's some really talented new chefs.

Re: Top Chef - Season 13

Agreed! Good season so far.

Did anyone notice Sheldon after his visit to the doctor for his "back" issue? The dude was high as F. "The docs fixed me up" They sure did Sheldon. He looked a little out of it on the next show too.

Brooke, her A-type intensity is a huge turn on. Good lord she gets me going.

Casey on the other hand looks like she might have just come down from a coke binge.... also a huge turn on.

Re: Top Chef - Season 13

I feel like the average quality of cheftestant this season is all time high - especially because they are weeding out the worst ones pretty quick.

besides the italian lady who probably shoulda lasted if she didn't pull that horrible potato salad decision

I've got weird guy who's the exec chef of alabama or w/e as the sleeper pick to make a serious run at it.

And Brooke, but she's not exactly a sleeper at this point.

My wife and I picked people right at the start. I have Sheldon and that backwards hat guy already eliminated.

She has Jim and some weird chic, forget her name.

Emily Hahn? I've definitely got her lower tier, but I like your wife's entry obv for just having two remaining in it. And Sheldon's now gonna be high on pain killers all season.

Re: Top Chef - Season 13

that was one of the dumbest things I've ever seen.
I'm sure he thought he would earn all kinds of respect from the judges and they would never vote him off.

was awesome to see it backfire.

moron.

I love Shirley so so much. Sheldon is also great.

lol Jamie to a certain extent, but whatever I kind of respect him giving up immunity. I don't think he did it as a tactic to ingratiate himself to the judges, he did it because it was the right thing to do.

But it wasn't the right thing to do. John purposefully told him to take any ****ty ingredients that the team was stuck with as a strategy since Jamie had immunity. That was a dumb strategy since you're increasing the likelihood of a team tank and the guy that's likely to sink it has immunity, but that was the team's choice. No way is Jamie supposed to fall on the sword when his team set him up to fail in the first place.

Re: Top Chef - Season 13

exactly.

say what you will about making quality food no matter what, but no way his dish ends up like that had he not had immunity.

whole thing was just an idiotic stunt that backfired.

and kudos to the judges for not falling for it.
