That wasn't an "Elimination Challenge". After the Quickfire Elimination, Padma says something along the lines of "now you're immediately going to have your first Elimination Challenge" and they went into the "this season on Top Chef video montage" and then credits.

The old chefs vs. new chefs gimmick is really good imo. It's nice not having to try to memorize 20 different names out of the gate.

Agreed with the Casey/Brooke comments. The Italian girl floats my boat too. The accent and broken engrish is molto sexy. And Shirley ain't bad either, although she always looks like she's been up all night.

Agreed, I'm loving the new season. Brooke, Casey, Sheldon, Shirley are all awesome and there's some really talented new chefs.

Agreed! Good season so far.

Did anyone notice Sheldon after his visit to the doctor for his "back" issue? The dude was high as F. "The docs fixed me up" They sure did Sheldon. He looked a little out of it on the next show too.

Brooke, her A-type intensity is a huge turn on. Good lord she gets me going.

Casey on the other hand looks like she might have just come down from a coke binge.... also a huge turn on.

I feel like the average quality of cheftestant this season is all time high - especially because they are weeding out the worst ones pretty quick.

besides the italian lady who probably shoulda lasted if she didn't pull that horrible potato salad decision

lol Jamie to a certain extent, but whatever I kind of respect him giving up immunity. I don't think he did it as a tactic to ingratiate himself to the judges, he did it because it was the right thing to do.

say what you will about making quality food no matter what, but no way his dish ends up like that had he not had immunity.

whole thing was just an idiotic stunt that backfired.

and kudos to the judges for not falling for it.
