I liked this style of restaurant wars. I'd be happy if they continued with some chefs table format in the future. With 12 people left they should do one of chefs table/classic rw, and then with 8 they do the other.

Penny was a terrible team, although arguably better cooks in general.

Yes it's available. I just watched it.

Was rooting for Shota, not shocked Gabe won but reading some sad/embarrassing stuff about him on Reddit. Not a good look. Dawn is very talented but the fact that she again managed time poorly in the finals is a bad look. Bring back Shota for an all star season. Wonder if they did enough background checks on Gabe but getting fired for sexual harassment and there seem to be numerous stories of infidelity while his wife was pregnant with their third kid. Guess we won’t be seeing him around during other seasons.

Was also pulling for shota and while the stuff about Gabe is not a good look, he seemed like a deserved winner. Can't root against elevated Mexican dining.

Enjoyed the season as usual.

Agreed. Was rooting for Shota, was Ok with Gabe winning. First I've heard of the allegations against him. Dawn clearly has some chops but just kept getting in her own way. She seems very linear in her approach. On the fly. All three in the finals were great cooks. There were several others this season who also could have been worthy finalists. Sarah, for example. Very, very, good season filmed during difficult times.

I am not a fan of Chef Dale Talde, not sure why he was one of the regulars this season. Must have a great publicist.

Yeah I hadn’t heard of the accusations either but was just on the bravotopchef Reddit and it was all over it. Padma also finally tweeted about it after the season was over.

Gabe was obviously very talented and came basically down to the rice and style of Shota’s final dish vs gabe’s sauces.

yeah, i think Shota lost it with the casualness of his third(?) dish combined with the uniqueness/creativity of Gabe's dessert.
no doubt Dawn is a great chef, she's just not a great cooking competition chef.

Had shota's current place taku for lunch today. Casual Japanese fried chicken takeout.

Amazing:
The chicken bucket is called a f*** it bucket.
The chicken itself was all small pieces of mostly dark meat. Definitely brined, some sort of sweet soy that had caramalized on some pieces. Plenty of pieces that were just skin too. Best* non full sized fried chicken I've ever had.
Brussel sprouts, perfectly cooked and absolute fire.

Good:
Miso mashes potatoes, worked well, never had anything like it.

Just ok:
Mac salad. It was fine but I've had better Mac salad.

*Unfortunately best fried chicken I've ever had remains Eduardo Jordans junebaby. Glad he was edited out of the finale after everything came out a few weeks ago.

Yes this was a special pack for the 4th so I didn't get a selection but that sounds like what I tasted. Really liked it.

Ah looks like Gabe got fired for harassment of female employee at his restaurant just after filming ended. Bummer it was a good season with a likeable cast.

Next Level Chef is pretty good, aside from how many times they say 'next level' and how the basement kitchen is all brand new appliances that are perfectly fine, just made to look aged and how they play it off like it's the dungeon

Good group of chefs this season imo.

Luke and Buddha have been underwhelming so far given their Michelin-starred backgrounds. Damarr seems cool and his food looks good, just not sure he has the versatility to go all the way.

I am rooting for Sarah, seems like a quality chef and also because I think she's cute. I've always had a thing for Irish girls.

Welp looks like I gave Sarah the jinx. That was a tough double elim, most of the chefs seem pretty good with no obvious dead weight.

Tough to say this season. It feels like there's no obvious standouts and no total duds even from the start.

Buddha and Jackson gave a super impressive performance last episode though, good to see everyone ratchet the quality up a notch, which isn't surprising given they had tons of prep time, a comfortable kitchen, and had to make 5 plates each.

Liking the new season so far, London is a cool setting and the addition of champs from other countries is a welcome change of pace imo.
