before you guys go crazy praising Stephanie and bashing Jacob, the legacy reveal made no difference in the outcome. Chiseled-face guy already had the 'flush the idol' plan in place

I know it didn't because the vote went exactly like they planned before Jacob revealed the fake idol. all for Jacob and 2 for James in case the idol was real. Nothing changed

he was dead in the water. nothing that happened after day 1, other than losing immunity, made any difference.

gonzalez got screwed because the #1 target randomly got immunity

Kinda bummed because Jacob and Gonzalez seemed like two of the more interesting personalities in the cast. Never pays to make yourself stand out early though.

yeah, not watching this season. one of the hottest out first. sigh

why they bother bringing misfits like Jacob and Donathan on the show just be humiliated, I have no idea. They have no chance at going far, much less winning.

Well David and Cochran didn't exactly start well and they both ended up ok.
The guys dominated the screen time, but Stephanie owned the strategy in this premiere. Saved Donathan and got the info on the legacy advantage.

Jacob was dumb AF. His fake idol plan was so bad that it could be a contender for ghost island 2...

Donathan loosely reminds me of Donnie from BB16(?) (Derrick's season). I'm not really a fan of either player, but these sorts of casting choices seem to resonate with a large cross section of central/rural USA viewers.

I think a lot of folks felt similarly about Lauren last season - thought she was dead on arrival at her tribe. I don't think the producers plan to humiliate these players, but it's easy to imagine that if Lauren was an early boot last season, she'd have a classic dodo edit.

Jacob was hilarious, one of the best atrocious players ever. Reminds me of J'tia or Drew - just an absolute trainwreck.

So is Domenick's "bluff" of wrapping a fake idol in a real idol letter the dumbest bluff ever?

Like how do you get a real letter without having a real idol? lol!

This bluff could totally make sense later in the game when you have already played an idol. But on day 3?

Sorry to see Seth Rogen go, but it looks like he never had a hope. The tribe just hated him. Also agree that it was too bad one of the hottest girls went first.

I could do without Probst trying to ram down a personal heroism story for Deliverance being able to swim 5 feet underwater.

Enjoyed the first challenge, but I'm sure it's a mistake to ever forfeit. If you refuse to forfeit, you and the other tribe are on equal footing. If you forfeit, the other tribe has a guaranteed advantage.

Ghost Island seems like an ok twist but it could be that we get to a point this season where everyone is invulnerable. I mind this less than most fans but a lot of idols and stuff can warp the game quite a bit.

Hopefully deliverance is next out.

Episode felt very scripted.

Stephanie has all the makings to be this seasons over-hyped overrated strategy girl, following in the footsteps of Chrissy from last season.

I'll admit she has a tight body but like another poster said she's a butterface, and there's nothing more unattractive to me than rats nest hair.

A few times watching the show I thought "nice body, and she's ok looking", but then other times it was "whoa, do not want".

She looks good in the low lighting of tribal, that's about it

I thought the men would dominate this cast, but Stephanie, Kellyn, and Laurel were good characters. Morgan was great, definitely going to be a huge factor (or out next lol).

Libby is way hotter than I thought going in.

I think I like this cast better than the last season but I really didn't enjoy that one.

Purple team really failed to spot the puzzle nerd, I was sure Bradley would be the one, he just looks so book-smart.
I know the survivor part is not so important any more but giving the other team flint for free felt like a mistake. And how do you as a Survivor fan still not know how to at least start a sliding puzzle. At least the first two rows are so easy.

First immunity challenge was awesome, kinda oldschool where the whole tribe has to contribute and work together.

My favourite pair so far might be Wendell and Dom. One with the strong social game the other the gamer with at least some awareness.

Brendon feels dangerous, he's very deliberate and has that lie-detector stare. He also seems to mesh well with most of the tribe.

We surely lost two of the more entertaining characters, even though, Jacob was just drawing dead from the beginning because he was just trying so hard to apply first level Survivor knowledge to advanced concepts without understanding them while also having no social game whatsoever.

Still hate the whispering, adds nothing for me.

Ghost Island twist is fine so far. I enjoy that the other tribe can give that temporary immunity, adds a little to the game. As the game progresses the advantages probably will get annoying fast.
