The difference is that the people with one pick are still live in the game, because they still have a pick left. So, sure, making them pick the EOE returnee is fine and makes sense.

The other people have no remaining picks at the start of the episode. If that happens at any other point, then they're out. There is no reason to have a special rule here. There are plenty of other ways to make EOE relevant to Survivor Survivor (some of which VTChess is also doing).

If this is so critical, the why not give anyone who was eliminated before the first EOE returnee the opportunity to make a called shot pick then. Sure, they're not going to win, but they could get some additional all important overall SS points!

Those people were eliminated because they had made a pick that got voted out; that's not the same thing as never having your pick go home, but running out of picks instead

That's just because Survivor decides to put the EoE return challenge at the beginning of the finale, rather than at the end of the previous episode. If it were at the end of the previous episode, then I guess you'd of course be ok with it. So now we're just getting into semantics on when they decide to show the EoE return challenge.

As long as you can predict who the EoE returnee will be at the start of the next episode, then it's basically the same as if it were at the end of the previous episode. I'm ok with it, and don't plan on making any changes to further edge seasons.

You're right about this. But I think it's a little more than semantics. The unit of one episode is the fundamental basis for the game.

Once again, I want to reiterate that it's your call and I'm fine with whatever you choose to do. Like everyone, I'm appreciative that you run this. It makes the survivor viewing experience more enjoyable.

Yes, I could do that, but it's a lot messier and more work, and so far I've found that 1) I don't have to worry about the first return EoE challenge because nobody has run out of picks yet by merge time, and 2)the EoE challenge always happens at the beginning of the finale, so it's easy to just have people make returnee guesses then.

I was really worried in the 2-hour episode before the finale, when there were like 15 extra minutes left in the episode, that the EoE return challenge was gonna happen then; I hadn't planned for that, but true to form, they still just BSed around for 15 mins and saved EoE challenge for finale night
