I don't understand how none of these people seem to be able to employ the concept of thinking more than one move ahead. Wardog just killed one of his biggest allies with 9 left and outed himself as officially a far too sneaky, disloyal, and aggressively playing person for any rational person to want to work with.

Ron just flipped in his 6 person alliance AND left his most loyal ally out on a limb (which he knows is by far a thing that majorly upsets her).

I seriously just don't know why if I'm Ron, Julie, and Gavin, I wouldn't just go along with the "six" until there were 7 left, then scoop up Vic who is most likely that 7th person, and take out the Lesu 3. And tell Vic about this plan and just tell her to lay low for a few days. Like, it doesn't seem like one decision being made out there is being thought through at all for what the next steps are going forward.

In such an environment, a player like Wardog can really thrive. This is why describing him as a GOAT/WOAT actually makes sense. He's a chaotic buffoon, but among a bunch of level 1 thinkers, he is king.
Spot on post. I was legitimately in shock that Ron actually voted out Wentworth and didn't tell Julie about it. I really thought Ron was pretending to go along with the plan, but actually planned to stick with Wentworth to cause a 5-4 Aurora vote, thereby completely exposing Wardog's plan and causing a huge breakup between Laren/Wentworth and Wardog

The game is really wide open now. I still think Victoria can win, but she's been awfully invisible for a while now. For a long time, I've had this feeling that Julie is gonna win. After tonight, I think Julie, Victoria, and Devins would be my top 3 likely winners.

Plus he would have gained Aurora's extra vote, without anyone else even knowing about it. Ron was just awful in this ep.

If Lesu didnt just cease control, DAN would be a favorite to win. I cant believe theyve put themselves back at the mercy of the Kama tribe.

Lol at everyone who said Devens should work with the Lesus. They refused to work with rick and david for more than one vote

This Kelley boot reminds me of Tony voting out LJ. DAN is attempting a tony esque high wire act and it’s great

I legitimately did not know who this DAN guy was and why you kept referring to him, until the end.

Anyway, it wasn't the "Lesus" in general who put themselves back at the mercy of Kama, it was DAN. He was almost entirely the one responsible. He is great for TV, but he is playing terribly.

I do agree with you that Rick got way too much flak earlier and that he was right not to trust the other Lesu.

Did anyone notice the lack of commercials in this episode? I think the first commercial was after the 1st tribal council.

At least in the Southern California market.

What was odd to me were the flashback scenes. I don't recall them ever using that style of editing before.

I think they started playing around with that last season. They did it earlier this season when Ron was talking to Joe at the well, and they flashed back to him asking Julia to ransack Joe's bag while he was talking to him.

Plus the early "cliffhanger" endings, they're trying to edit things more dramatically now.

The flak Rick got wasn't for being mistrustful of the Lesus, it was for telling Wardog to his face that he didn't trust him and was almost certainly not willing to work with him. Even if it's true, it's never good gameplay to let players know that you don't trust them.

Guess I just hadn't noticed it before.

Not really a fan of it either. I like my Survivor story told in a strictly linear fashion. Flibbity floo!

Yeah, that's terrible. But iirc he also got flak for not being willing to listen to David and forgive/work with the Lesu3, and that he was just being butthurt even though they were supposedly kumbaya at that TC. Could be wrong, not gonna go back and look.

Old man!

Actually, I prefer it that way too. Seems gimmicky and unnecessary otherwise. Save the drama for exciting machinations and TC's.

I think it is fine. If Wentworth makes it back in to the game, she might have bought a few more friends on the jury by sharing that info. If she doesn't make it back in, sharing that knowledge won't affect her in any way because she'll be out.

Not sure throwing your closest ally and friend under the bus like that buys you a lot of friends. Just makes you seem ruthless and selfish.

Also, I just read an interview with David, which led to the following point:

If we're giving Rick flak for this, then Wardog should get even more flak, for even worse gameplay:

David: "My relationship with Wardog dissolved during the cold, windy days of Lesu. I told him I was willing to go to rocks for him, and he said he wasn't, and that was the end of that. Wardog has a very blunt way of speaking. If he decides he doesn't want to work with you, there's no changing his mind. Still, we got along and talked about our mutual love of The Beatles, especially George Harrison. Wardog repeatedly said he was going to vote me out. While that honesty was refreshing, it meant I would never be able to trust him and that I'd have to vote him out before he voted me out."

I'm not sure why anyone thought Kelly was such a threat to win. She was playing a pretty so-so game imo. She looks athletic but sucked at the challenges. I don't think having played before is worth much with the jury, if anything, so I don't see that as an advantage for her either.

It's been a good season but I wish I had one person I was really rooting for to win. At this point I don't care all that much although I'm interested to see how it turns out.

Also, this may have been mentioned earlier but David is basically the real-life version of Pig Pen from the Peanuts comics. On an island where everyone is dirty and gross, for some reason David always looks an order of magnitude more filthy. Does he just roll around in the mud for fun?

If a current denizen extinction island were to go on to win, wouldn’t we be getting more of an edit with him/her more prominently featured? Gg Joe

Is there even going to be a ponderosa this season? They sure are saving on the resort, chef and food cost.

I think the fact she's been invisible and avoiding control is exactly why she's my front runner to win. She has zero enemies right now on the jury.

I think Julie is a prototypical losing finalist. This season is hot garbage
