LOL if you think that is why people are criticizing her negotiation skills.
For the record her skills are fine. But, when you come out acting as an authority on the subject because you have taken two classes and then make some very basic mistakes you deserve all the criticism that will be directed at you.
1. She weakly suggested Jeff make the first offer while having the subtext that she would make the offer if he didn't want to. This makes her look desperate. She was not coming from a position of strength and should have committed to anchoring the negotiation by having an opening offer.
2. Her opening offer was like ~90% of the tools they had at camp. Leaving her very little room to negotiate.
3. She saw the negotiation as a zero sum game and didn't acknowledge that Jeff & the remaining contestants could align interests. Tired and exhausted people make for bad television which is something she should have mentioned.
4. Before an offer had been accepted, she admitted that her offer was a low ball and "that's what you're supposed to do in a negotiation."
5. Her offer was too long-winded and not conducive to a verbal offer on a TV show. (Ironically, this worked in her favor as Jeff didn't want to deal with the lengthy back-and-forths.)
Jeff let her off the hook because she was vulnerable and she put herself out there which he admires.
But, to act like she has negotiating strategy mastered is absurd. When you talk a big game you should back it up.
