I mean, that immunity challenge was one of the best of all time. not sure how you can say the episode was ‘unexciting.’ And there wasn’t much Alec could do as the main physical threat. You also missed him talking to Christian

How exactly was Gabby ‘completely clueless’ about her actual spot in the game? Seriously. Her alliance was lying to her about the vote. On top of that, they wanted to vote out Alison, her closest ally other than Christian. I don’t see how you can criticize Gabby whatsoever for this episode. She also knew exactly what was going on and what everyone was doing, so I don’t see how she was clueless.
And there were more reasons for Christian voting out Carl than just to appease Gabby. First, we have seen him much closer to Alison than Carl. Second, Carl was very close with both Davie and Nick — a big concern if he was planning an all-david final 5. That would be putting quite a lot of trust in Nick to take him to the end. It makes plenty of sense to break that up in favor of keeping a close ally in Allison. At the most basic level, Christian was not the decision maker of the David’s. He also noted that he wouldn’t get credit because Carl was getting the credit. So there were many more dimensions to that decision than just appeasing Gabby.

This is a pretty classic case where it’s much easier to play from behind than ahead. Textbook example of how not to talk to your allies (and your enemies, for that matter).

Here's a million dollars.".
I think she played that well actually. It was good how she subtly brought it up at TC to let the jurors know what happened, without sounding like she bragged about it. Plus she was right in knowing she didn’t need that immunity anyways. And it seemed like they legitimately needed rice. Obviously this won’t singlehandedly make the difference on whether a jury votes for her or not, but it is a nice tiny little resume builder. And it was smart of her to downplay it to the tribe — even if it’s obvious to us what she’s doing because of her confessionals, that doesn’t mean her tribemates see it the same way. Davie seemed pretty happy with her, and Carl too.
