Marvel's The Punisher Marvel's The Punisher

Trailer looks amazing. I know I said that about The Defenders but I can't see how they can screw this up. Worse case scenario we have boring secondary plots.

Punisher is by far my favorite character out of all the characters in the Netflix series universe, so I have high hopes for this!

Think it is all post-daredevil, anything with his family is just a dream/nightmare.

I really hope they put together past and future. if it's just him trying to uncover this big conspiracy leading up to The Hand I'll lose my ****.

Looks like the season will focus on him getting revenge from whoever murdered his family judging from the confrontation with the older guy. Hopefully nothing to do with The Hand.

You can see that redhead chick from the other shows in this, so we'll surely have something from the current timeline.

The show was supposed to have a surprise release during comic con this week. After the Las Vegas shooting they postponed the release indefinitely

Pretty sure everything about the surprise release was rumor only. People kept saying Oct. 13th but Mindhunter has been scheduled as Netflix's Oct 13 release for months.

Earlier, before the 'surprise release' rumors started, Nov. 10th or 17th were the speculated dates.

Release date: November 17th

You can't really go wrong with any of the recent Garth Ennis (Preacher) stuff. I would recommend going with the Marvel Knights Punisher run first (Welcome back, Frank): https://www.amazon.com/Punisher-Welc.../dp/0785157166

and then moving on to the Marvel MAX run of Punisher if you enjoy that. https://www.amazon.com/Punisher-Max-...1EZFYK6TVSYD6W

The MK series is less explicit overall and a tad more comic-booky (if you like superheroes and such, there are more of those in that first series). The second MAX run is more explicit and mature, with more gore, sex, and mature themes that you would see on HBO (sex traffickers, etc).

Yeah the Garth Ennis run is the best Punisher runs and one of the best comic runs period.

It starts with the Welcome Back, Frank TPB, then:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Pu..._(2001_series) - Punisher Marvel Knights (Keep in mind Vol. 1 is the Welcome Back Frank TPB), then:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Pu..._(2004_series) - Punisher MAX

TPBs are listed at the end of the wiki articles.

For recommended TPBs I would get:

Welcome Back, Frank
Punisher MAX: The Complete Collection Vol. 1-4 (Contains all 72 Punisher MAX issues by Garth Ennis)

So I'm guessing this comes out at midnight? Pretty psyched about this show as Punisher was in my top 3 comics to read as a kid.

Yea pacific time.

I read a few reviews which said totally opposite things from each other. One great one terrible but I don't care because these type of shows are my type of show so I expect I will like it a lot.

Ya I read a negative review too, it was by a woman. That's like a dude trying to understand a woman going thru her period imo. That and the gun violence BS in this culture is trying to kill this show, I say **** that noise!

Is there any need to watch daredevil before this?

Two episodes in and liking it so far. Much better than the defenders.

Daredevil season 2 is a must if you want to grasp all that is happening.

I’m five episodes in or so. This is better for me than any of the previous ones. But that may say more about what I like in tv than anything else.

I was in the middle of Daredevil season 1 and went right to this. If you know the basic backstory it seems fine to just jump right in.

On episode 4, so far quite solid. Although the guy who plays Stein is a terrible actor. Love the high level of carnage.

No. If you don't mind skipping parts, episodes 2, 3, 4, 8, and 9 of Daredevil season 2 are the most Punisher-centric episodes. Episodes 3 and 4 are the most important and I would recommend everyone watch them.

Just watched the first episode. Sooo good. Doesn't even seem like the same world as the other shows.

I'm 5 episodes in and it's pretty good, but I think I missed something. Why did the CIA goon kill Frank's family??

Personal vendetta, also they thought Frank was the one who took the video from Kandahar.
