Hint: Just like with "evidence" of jealousy, it's completely based on interpretation, and basic common sense.
She had never had an inkling of getting rid of Christian. He has been her emotional rock since day 1, and it was only until she saw him with his gf did she have the notion that their relationship was really just one of convenience of needing comeraderie on the island.
That to me is circumstantial evidence.
Also, the only strategic moves we had seen from her so far was the week before, that she was all butthurt because Carl was gunning for her so she "decided" that Carl was becoming too powerful in the game
I wonder if she would've felt like that had she not been the one being targeted.
According to you, though, the only concrete possible evidence that jealousy had an influence on her decision would be if she had directly said to the camera, "I did it out of jealousy." As if that's how humans behave in the slightest.
By the way, just to be crystal clear, I don't think that the jealousy was borne out of an actual, conscious interest in Christian as a romantic potential. I think it was more subtly that she had come to rely on him for emotional support out there (which yes, is one aspect of a relationship) and he was fulfilling that need for her. It probably made her feel special, and important, and it was a reality check when she saw that he was being a similar way with his ACTUAL GIRLFRIEND.
There's nothing wrong with crying, but for someone to resort to crying so frequently at the drop of a hat like she did indicates to me that she a pretty emotionally unstable person, at least comparatively to the average Survivor contestant.
I mean, they ALL are going through the same stressful situation. They're ALL starving, and they're ALL surrounded by people that eventually want to vote them out, sooner or later. Sure, we might see a contestant or two cry at some point because the whole situation just really catches up to them, or the weather just wears them down, or something. But for her it seemed like it was almost every freaking episode.
She showed ZERO initiative to change her own position in the game whenever she felt like on the outs. Her response was to
1. Cry out of frustration
2. Cry in front of Christian
3. Have Christian take some kind of action to ensure her safety.
Now, if you want to twist these observations I have into something sexist, because of the stereotype that women tend to be overemotional or emotionally unstable, then go right ahead, but you're the one implying that we're making that connection. We're not. We're calling it as we see it. And based on the number of people I've talking to about it or things I've read from other forums, we're not in the minority of this takeaway.
There has also been an equal amount of criticism in our Survivor threads of male contestants who also acted out of emotion and led to irrational or poor gameplay.
And considering that many in this forum feel that the Survivor GOAT is a woman, I think these accusations of sexism are just really misplaced.
