The whole cutting off the bottom of the idol scroll plan is interesting, but it gets blown up by the bellhop because he knows. And she has no idea he is the one who gave it to her, so she can't approach him to create an alliance based on that lie after a swap or merge.

He can approach her pretty easily though.

True but that requires that she hasn't revealed anything to anyone else before they meet, which may not be anytime soon. Also he has already let one person in on it, so even if she knew it was him, there is no way for her to be sure that the secret isn't out until they meet.

Both of them independently realizing the plan and then her keeping her mouth shut until she is approached by whomever gave her the idol is at least a couple of levels of thinking higher than contestants are generally capable of.

Don't get me wrong, it's a cool idea, I just think the execution is far more difficult than most survivor moves and can more easily backfire.

Bellhop can also go home soon before he is to confirm/deny her claim.

He already shared full details with someone, so both of them would have to go.

I thought it was a decent bounce back ep. Nothing extremely crazy but a lot more of the dynamics shown. Ali is great but I don't like how they haven't explained Ali/Patrick know one another but whatever.

Have they even hinted at it? If it wasn't for this thread I wouldn't know about this. I doubt the average viewer has any idea at all.

Most predictable tribal ever? Even the usual fake target segment seemed a little half-hearted.

Still holding out hope for a good season though. I like Ali and Ryan.

Highly doubt they ever tell us they know each other. That a lone was the reason I wasn't buying Patrick going home.

Ali and Chrissy are crushing this game.
Cole is stupid for telling Joe the idol was near the well, just go back later and get it yourself.

Fewest posts in an OOTV Survivor thread at this point in a season? I mean we're beyond the 12 hour mark after the second episode and we're at fewer than 100 total posts.

No surprise that I keep coming back to "wow, one of these people is going to win Survivor.........?!" It's shaping up like that kind of season.

I thought it was just me because Australian Survivor has been a total blast, but seems like it's just a ****ty season.

Shame tho, a lot of these people seem socially aware and decent at the game.

Dull so far. Maybe the cast will grow on me. I like the hot nurse and the marine seems cool enough I guess. Urologist has some comic potential.

I thought this was a good episode. Lots of scenes around camp.

Simone was MVP of the preseason, but there's no way theyre voting out one of their two strong men. it was obvious right before tribal when Simone asked Ryan if they were good, and his voice squeaked "yeah we're good"

Ali is now really holding it down as far as hotness.

Don't feel bad for Simone - she gets to go back to the demanding grind of being a "Diversity Advocate".

What? From her preseason she looked to be a bottom 5% contestant all time, and her play in the island proved that.

So far all is pretty predictable and there aren't any serious strong personalities right away except for NFL guy jumping the shark immediately. Joe is trying hard to be dominant but he just doesn't have it.

Even the whole theme is just stupid, I don't know why they bother. They hopefully will do tribe shuffle soon and make it irrelevant.

I'll have to check out Australian Survivor.
