I like the cast. Good mix of crazy and smart with a lack of vapid.

Marine dude is my winner pick.

When was the last time a survivor season kicked off with a 1 hour episode?

I feel like we often have the same winner pick. Ben was my winner pick before the episode aired

decent premiere. some crazy people already. some strategists. im glad the super idol was only for the first vote because that wouldve been too much. overall im glad its a 3 tribe season with all new people, thats usually a good format

he should still be then. he looked solid

feel like only one of the urologist/probation officer guy will survive early on, but whichever does could go far

but i hate when people do the whole "my biggest fear is getting voted out first, so im gonna abandon everyone and go search alone for the idol." sure its good to search for the idol, but your standing in the tribe is more important and first impressions are huge, so i wouldnt search until you have a decent group first

thats a good question. its usually 90 min even with the occasional 2 hour. prob have to go back a few years for the last 60 min premiere. not sure why theyd do it like that. definitely feels like we dont know people that well

good first ep,
i like the bellhop and the surfer guys alliance, they compliment each other welll and should go far.

Some of the hustlers occupations are a complete joke, and whats with the financial analyst who is a hero?

Anyone else surprised super idol wasn't played?

Simone has a great face and the body of a gummy bear. I'm rooting hard for her to make it at least to the merge bc her island hot potential is very high.

Yeah, what's up with the one hour episode? Made it felt much more like a regular episode than a premiere.

All in all not terrible though, looks like there's some interesting personalities.

I love the Alan's types who have never seen the show before who just go nuts . Making JP strip, geez how paranoid is he. Freaking Ben seems the most level headed on that tribe other than Chrissy.

Hope Devon and Ryan do well, they seem well matched.

Joe is such a Tony wannabe.

How could they put Ali and Patrick on the same tribe when they already knew each other from college? At the very least they should have split them.

Alan is a psycho and I hope so bad he lasts at least a couple more episodes. A+ entertainment value.

So she didn't use the idol. Does she whip it out now and pretend it's a real one?

Just watched this AM... Kept waiting for a hold up Jeff but it didn't happen. Mom on mom crime.

Using it as a fake out is a great idea.

Only an hour because the producers were pissed about the idol being a scud missile, not a tomahawk.

She made the right decision. saving the other person being targeted still leaves them down 3:2.

Agree probably the right move. Gonna be an Ashley v Allan showdown at their next vote. Just expected it to be played.

Anyone else worried someone that goes into the water early is going to get cracked by a flying crate thrown blindly overboard during the marooning?

I think her move is totally defensible, but i don't know if it's 100% right.

With these small tribe seasons, they do a lot of early swaps and jumble things around really quickly. Also there is a good chance you don't even go to tribal again in the next 6-9 days.
If you keep your friend and get rid of someone who you don't jell with it could pay off pretty soon.
Sure rocking the boat can be bad, but you've already seen major drama on the tribe, it's totally possible that by the next tribal people aren't wanting to get back at you in any way and they are gunning for Alan or something.
Then you get the benefit of having someone in your pocket for a long time.

I think either play can be fine.

Sure, but she can still show the idol and rules to the tribe and that, plus her vote is her proof of loyalty, which may benefit her in the long run if she (and enough of her tribe) makes it to the merge.
